I was told the ride system pre-fabrication is a bit behind so they are keeping it open until closer to when the ride system will be ready.

I believe that when everything is ready this will be another impressively quick build out.

i wonder if Nassal has one of these hidden somewhere?

We're headed down in mid-May. I wonder the likelihood that this will be open by then.

I sure hope so. USF could use some more fountains

Wait so this is an actual ride going in place of Twister? I'm a little bit more excited about that now.

So do you know it will be a soarin or avatar ride system? Or something else but similar to one of the two? It will be nice for them to be able to make the new york area more cohesive.

Soarin' and Avatar are basically the same ride system, more or less. Avatar just has a greater range of motion.

EDIT: I'd wager that if the attraction is something similar to that, it will use the Dynamic Attractions flying theater posted on the other page. It uses the least amount of room, seemingly.

You think they'd let Intamin do another attraction after Gringotts?

Well, they did Hanna Barbera/Neutron/DM and BTTF/Simpsons.

Well Gringotts was very next-gen so you have to give them some leeway

Far from enough to get that kind of credit

That's too cool, this really does seem like an easy to set up attraction. I'm sure they could build it faster than TF if they tried

The first time I heard of this rumor I went immediately to streetmaps. The building certainly is tall enough to house this. I remain perplexed as to what they are considering. If I really cared, then I would be vexed, yet I don't, so I am just perplexed.

True, but their rides tend to have a lot of issues regardless. I can't think of any major US ride installations by Intamin this year because of that. Universal's just one of many park chains who are wary of the company's history of mechanical issues.

They haven't had a good recent track record. Falcon's Fury, Gringotts, and Cheetah Hunt all had problems from them in Central Florida

I don't understand, how can they use a Soarin like ride system with a theme like the 30 Rock comedy show? Or am I mixing things up now?

Supposedly it's going to be like Soarin' except you're over New York.

Hmmm ... can we really blame Intamin for the Gringotts issues? How much were they involved actually, as I thought a bunch of other companies were involved as well.
As for Falcon's Fury, I think part of the blame falls on BGT as well, they were just overly confident it will be ride in spring, but they really should have waited to announce anything. Also for as I far as I am aware Falcon's Fury has no issues now (did it again a few days ago :) )

In any case, I like that Intamin thing DisneyHead posted; and I just love the irony, where Disney will use something similar as the main ride, Universal will use it as 'filler'.

Also, JungleSkip, so the kidzone negotations fell completely through?

- - - Updated - - -

Personally, what I would like to see is a few flat rides for Springfield, music express, tilt a whirl, etc or even an enterprise, would fit that area really well I think.

There were other companies involved. As far as I was told, Intamin was in charge of their main problem areas, though.

Announcement or not, the thing was done and then fell apart during testing.

As far as I know.

At least Universal is always smart enough to not announce things too early :)

For when do you think the SF project is 2017?
