Thanks for passing along the rumor, but I seriously doubt it. They may be in the process of being designed and approved for modification or perhaps a few sample outfits are being made for review.

Remember that the raptors arrived in time for three days testing before they went live. Universal has historically been very tight on vendor orders.

Otherwise, I would expect them to be nothing but NBC Page outfits:

So, if I'm following correctly, we still don't exactly know what the ride system will be?

Yes, I do, to an extent. The entire theater seating area will be mounted to a massive stewart platform base, that will tilt in reaction to movements on the screen. What I have yet to find out is how severe the tilt will be. I can only hope that it might be 70°-80° so that it will pass thrill muster.

Are they going to knock out an exterior wall to remove the old Stay Puft crane, or do you think they'll repurpose it like they did for Twister?

I'll see if I can dig up a picture. During the transition to Twister they weren't able to move the crane without removing an entire wall, so it was reused to make the Drive In Sign fly away.

Let me know if that works, if not the Facebook Page "Space Coast Ghostbusters" posted a few behind the scenes pics in early July. From my understanding, the crane was so large that the Twister building was built around it.

Thanks. I am not sure what they will do with it. Is it bolted to the ceiling or does it hang down into the building?

I believe it's bolted into the building's foundation - there's the crane itself, and then it's base that is the size of a standard construction crane body. In the Twister show scene it's located in the rear right, in an area that is recessed about 8' lower than the rest of the stage. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been about 10 years since I've seen it up close.

I remember growing up in Vegas there were a couple of simulator attractions (Caesars, where I work currently, had one) which was mounted onto a giant stewart platform rather than individual motion bases. The effect obviously felt by minor shaking and broad sweeps (since the base is larger), but I haven't ridden anything like that in recent years. I'm assuming the seats installed on there will obviously have Universal Creative's favorite 4D effects installed on them.

Ah then, it must go... remove part of the roof, remove a wall... That will be fun to watch huh?
