I'm waiting for the moment of "You guys were opening a Pandora at Animal Kingdom? My wife loves jewelry." interaction with a CM. I know it's a tired joke, but I CAN see this happening.

I bet it already has happened. Many times.

I happened to see that the ACE logo was featured on the first official Pandora merch item (also heavily part of the Pandora backstory) and couldn't help but notice the similarities between the ACE logo and the ISTC logo.

Yep. Because they're both cultural flash in the pans that have been generally forgotten by the public except as mindless, one-note fluff. There is/was no tangible desire for either sequel, despite financial returns on both films. Zoolander 2 flopped hard.

Avatar kick-started the prevalence of 3D, and it's one-note was that we hadn't seen anything like it before. But we HAVE now, and there's a new 3D blockbuster coming out every other week. The uniqueness of it has disappeared completely, and the story lacking to a point where there's not even a viable market for extended canon.

Money doesn't equal popularity. That's why it's so common for sequels to flop.

EDIT - Here, this something crazy to think about relevance in the zeitgeist: Fan Fiction. The top 15 movies on Fanfiction.net, by number of stories written in their worlds, includes Pirates of the Caribbean, High School Musical, and Labrynth. Inception has twice as many stories as Avatar. Avatar has fewer stories written about it than Van Hesling, Four Brothers, and Treasure Planet. You want an idea of how much people don't care about Avatar or the canon expanding, there you go.

again i ask if it was solely for 3d why is it the number 1 grossing home market movie of all time?

also i see it more of a better version of Transformers with huge international gains

EDIT: but i do agree with earlier assessment when Avatar partners with a strong brand success will occur

People always underestimate James Cameron. Titanic was supposed to be the biggest flop of all time given its cost overruns. Avatar was laughed at in its 10 minute sneak peak at Comic Con. There will be countless click bait articles and roundabout discussions on forums about how bad the Avatar sequels will flop, until they don't.

James Cameron doesn't do what James Cameron does for James Cameron. James Cameron does what James Cameron does because he is James Cameron.

This is one of those songs that is forever stuck in my head.

This is screenz used correctly.

The only bad thing I can say about this, is that it feels like you're in a giant room by how dark it is but it's so overwhelming and vibrant that it doesn't really matter.

That video looks great. If that's an accurate representation of the bulk of the ride, my fears have been (mostly) unfounded. As long as there's physical detail on that level along the river bank, I'll live with the screens.

Its visually stunning but for me its lacking something. Maybe with the soundtrack it will be more for me but right now I'm not wowed but simply that's cool.

Any one have an idea of the ride duration? I'm optimistic for this one. Keeping my fingers crossed for the Banshee

I've always thought I'd prefer the boat ride to the Flight of Passage, but only if it's long enough time wise and not just a short jaunt like the track appears.

They have the ability to stop the boat and turn it sideways so it might be longer but for any sort of capacity I think they are limited to four minutes.

I thought I saw sources say it's a 4 minute journey.

Short for a boat ride. Generally those are the long rides at Disney....So, I might have to turn my focus to Flight of Passage if I have to make a choice between them for a Fastpass.

It might be nice to have a highly themed boat ride that doesn't last 12,000 years.
