Halloween Horror Nights 29 General Discussion

I’m not a scareactor, but my boyfriend has been one since 2017. He was in Ash vs. Evil Dead, so he already knew all about Type-A and Type-B cast and such as well that he could talk to me about. Last year and this year he’s been a reserve, so there’s even more experience. Our roommate was on the Purge street, The Harvest, and now is in Ghostbusters; my friend Drew was in Halloween 4 and now is in UM; our new roommate who’s just here during HHN is in Graveyard Games.

I got the Little Rock information from the first roommate’s girlfriend, a recently-quit character performer, because she’s friends with one of the Little Rocks (unsure which cast). We were just commenting on/sort of complaining about the ZKotW shows when she brought that up about LR and Wichita. I watched a cast change happen on Sunday, but maybe it was just a weird coincidence that it immediately followed one of the shows. LR and Wichita might specifically go together...or is it LR and whoever’s supposed to do that show? I know she’s there to support whoever’s doing the killing.

What’s your role, assuming you’re a scareactor?

Sorry if you thought I was coming at you hard asking if you were a scareactor, I didn’t mean for it to come off that way I was legitimately just curious.

Sometimes the timing of the active roles / show works out really well with the sets... sometimes it doesn’t lol. I’ve noticed one of the Little Rock’s really supports and interacts as much as she is allowed and the other interacts more around the zone. I think it’s important to note that Little Rock is not a part of the shows, she’s technically a scareactor on the 45 minute sets while the other named survivors are active roles on 20 minute sets. Just an interesting tidbit when it comes to that zone!

While I have been a scarector for many years in the past I work on the other side of things now

Oh I didn’t take it as harsh at all; if anything, it was a little flattering! I’m proud of the little bit of knowledge that I have, and I love to share it, but I only have it because of the people I know.

What do you do, if that’s okay? Is it Zombieland or scarezones in general or more broad than that? If you’d like to share, that would be really cool! I know the least amount of things about the streets because like I said, the main person I get details from, my boyfriend, was only on a street once as a Chomp in Twisted Tradition for just one night as a reserve. The guy from Purge and Harvest is basically limited to information about those zones.

While I'm happy everyone's enthusiastic and excited about the particulars, a reminder to be careful when divulging specific role identities. I'm not quite sure how strict they are in Orlando, but in Hollywood, that can be grounds for disciplinary action, even when it isn't the performer themselves that divulges.

Got it. Thanks for the warning!

According to Tim Tracker who did the UTH 6 house tour the 3 house tour was Graveyard Games, Universal Monsters, and Killer Klownz while the 6 house tour he did was House of a 1000 corpuses, Depths, Nightingales, Yeti, Stranger Things, and Ghostbusters. This is not for 100% they can alway switch the houses.

They were, managed 8 houses and both shows by 10.15pm with no Express or stay and scream. Was a great night!
Manageable crowds most definitely, but operations off. Run thru Ghostbusters was missing both Dana and Zuul. ST had us stop mid house to have a cast change right in front of us, and still missing Dustin on the bus. GG had multiple dead stops in house, like 5 or 6 extended stops. TM admitted it was a bad night.
Only good part was scanners not working so Express worked twice for half the houses.

Crowds seem very manageable based on the app

ST topped out at an hour, I only saw Ghostbusters go to 45, back houses in that 30 - 35 range. Streets felt a little busier than wait times suggested, but nothing was ever impassable.

I think part of the problem with the streets is that virtually every zone but Anarchade has some sort of mini-shows. They draw a crowd. In some cases, thinking the porta-potties in Zombie Land, it ruins the scare. A&D in a tough situation here. Traditional zones no longer work, I think we all realize that now. And following the Psychoscarapy model is a great idea in theory (still the best zone ever). But NY street and Rodeo probably the only areas that can handle that sort of gawking crowd. I don't know what the solution is--zones made HHN what it is, don't want to see them go the way of Bill & Teds, but they were made for a different generation.

Interesting, saw both Danas on my run, but both library ghosts were missing. First scare dark, so I don't know that it was a cast change thing. Depths felt light on cast, too, with a couple obvious holes. On the flip side, saw more actors in GG than I have before.

Finally going this sunday. Flying in on Saturday night so will only be at the event one day. Pretty stoked to do HHN a bit early this time since I always go the very last saturday lol

For those that have done UTH, at what time would the 10:45 tour end? Tempted to buy the $25 3-5 PM ticket. I do have Express for sunday so not sure if it would still be worth it.

We did the 10:00 AM 6 house tour, we got out of the staging area at 10:30, had lunch close to 12-1, then finished up around 3:30.

That's why I always do the 10am tour. At 3:30, I can grab something quick to eat and then be one of the first ones in Stay and Scream at 4.

To be clear for the original poster, they do escort you out of the park. If you have tickets/an AP, you can re-enter right away to Stay and Scream. Otherwise, you have to line up outside the gates per usual.

Yeah sorry about that. I didn't see the original post, I just looked at the times for the tour
