I was at the park this past weekend and put together this quick video showing off the heavy construction going on in the front entrance area, a look at the two areas with permits for demolition (Tut's Tomb & Critter Castaways) along with some general fun (craft beer selection, baby animals etc)...
Hmmmmmmn this is weird because Tut's Tomb is a rather small location, but on the other hand makes sense because Egypt with Tut & Akbar closed has been a really dead section of the park.
The thing I'm fearing is that they could be building the same tiny footprint coaster they are building in...
Only been to Carowinds once, wasn't a big fan the park felt very 'vanilla-corporate-blah' to me, but I will absolutely be back next year cause this ride looks REALLY awesome. Love how long the ride is and the wacky turnaround element.
This past Monday Nights main event closing segment with the Bella/Stephanie McMahon terrible acting segment has to be one of the worst ways to end RAW in recent memory.
I did love that the fans in the crowd hated it so much that they were chanting for Jamie Noble.
While I think the current Pirate Island show is dated and needs to go, I don't quite get the move for struggling Sea World. I mean is anyone on vacation next year gonna go to Sea World for a new Sea Lion show?
I rode yesterday and the ride was bad, really really bad. I'm not sure how you can build a dark ride and promote it when it only has three show scenes (two of which are just screens). Bleh. I actually didn't have a problem with the animation, thought it was better then Turtle Trek, but not to...
I found it very interesting that there was clearly a B&M Hyper Coaster train model in the Universal Creative room with all the Transformers, Cabana Bay & Potter stuff.
Is it something or is it nothing?
I'm at the park right now. Temporary walks are up with no one in the area. Think the reports of soft openings were false
Also they have a massive temporary extended queue stretching all the way through pacific point preserve, I'm guessing they are expecting giant crowds this weekend
Does anyone think the potential success or potential failure of the upcoming 3D re-release would have anything to do with the size and scope of this project moving forward?
