As for Tiana, I really have no opinion. Disney has got me so discouraged between high prices, huge crowds, and insane LL policies that are like figuring out your taxes to use, I just have very little interest in anything Disney does anymore. Not to mention the extended lengths of time it takes to get anything new. How long have we been waiting for that Avengers E ticket now? A Peoplemover replacement (or even just demolition)? Something to replace the old Who Wants to be a Millionaire building at DCA?

100% this. The only thing we have to look forward anymore from Disney is how much higher are the prices gonna be now and how will they screw up their system even more?

Man, I remember going on the MiceChat discussion boards as far back as 2010 and reading all those threads about what's going in the Millionaire building and when's the PM coming back? To this day, nearly fifteen years later, we are still asking these questions and the answer seems to remain the same for the foreseeable future: nothing. But hey, you can now pay $400 for unlimited lightning lane....even though that service was completely free just five years ago!

Did we all just forget when they announced four new rides for DCA, including the Avengers E-Ticket. Certainly I agree that Disney's prices are absurd, but Avatar is likely replacing the Hollywood Studios and the Avengers E-Ticket will be built next year. Ignoring that is just willful ignorance to support a point that doesn't even need that support because, again, everyone already agrees that the prices are absurd.

I mean

We will see where they go

The art doesn't look like it could fit in Hollywood even with taking extra area's

Also Its cool but they could have started months ago and we just have to wait until next years for anything at DCA (also Avangers seems to be wayyy scaled back to the OG concert) . Next year we have no new attraction besides the Walt attraction, Splash is a redo and didn't enhance the ride and the rides before that are are clones Mickey and even ROTR

But its hard to see them raise prices and we have to wait yearssssssss to see the results. Also we just wasted 1.6 years redoing a ride that was still loved....so yeah DIsney wasted time on redoing a ride no one asked them to redo over adding to DCA.

It just feels like an AI i running the ship and not Iger, like I see nothing about these years to really gloat about MCU is on and off again dying and really nothing of the new things have worked and we are getting sequels and live action remakes because Disney once again doesn't have a leader with a vision beyond how do we make easy money

Yeah but there’s no sign of construction starting anytime soon. Gonna be at least five years (4 years best case) before we see any of these rides open. I’m terrified to see what the prices are gonna be by then. All this is doing is reinforcing how long it takes for Disney to build stuff.

to me a lot of this criticism, warranted or not, points to be a pretty clear solution. if the price of tickets is too expensive and new additions aren't coming quickly enough: go less frequently. I go once a year for a few days at a time and that's plenty for me. I could understand people spreading that out quite a bit longer.

a one-day park hopper is absurdly expensive, especially if you're going more than once a year. getting a three-day park hopper every three years is still absurdly expensive, but I think it's good value for what you're getting (obviously).

this discussion often comes back to guests needing to vote with their feet if they're dissatisfied. I think something often lost, or unsaid, is that guests aren't dissatisfied. that's why they keep coming back year over year over year.

they replaced splash mountain because it was based on a racist-ass movie that the company disavows. absolutely fair game to critique what replaced it, but I feel like some of y'all are completely forgetting what circumstances led to the attraction being replaced.

I will not believe any attraction is actually coming to the Disneyland Resort until they break ground. Been burned too many times, sorry.

I'm with Jake. If you're unhappy, go less. I have (let my pass expire), and I feel better about it. They'll get my money less and less unless they earn it back through improved service, friendlier policies (including pricing), and new attractions. Tiana's Bayou Adventure looks pretty terrible outside the advanced animatronics, so that won't specifically move the needle for me.

The Characters have zero to do with the complaints of the film and once again because Vodoo is now Taboo compared to 15 years ago...we can't event get the Villain on the ride. So Feels empty to me to be like well this film has issues so can't use it....well so does the film you replaced it with

The ride was splash mountain not Song of the South Mountain.

But lets ignore that even cool your replacing it then it needs to be better and.....I just don't see besides the Tech which they could have upgraded on the old ride I don't see how its better. The story is the most generic boring just baby thing they could make ZERO risks, I want a CEO who rides this and is like...OMG guys come on we are Disney this is boring, the Pooh plot is just as thrilling as this story wise...come on throw in some adventure.

Iger has no original idea's its all sequels, making the MCU worst and hit or misses on Star Wars. I want a CEO that knows and liked Disney content so they can help guild where the company should go. What has he done to make Disney better? Even back in the day it was buying other brands because he could not hire people to make up new idea's. He feels like an AI, ZERO personally and not many risks and even the things that work he clearly doesn't know what to do with.
I want someone closer to Walt or john lasseter leadership because they had IDEAS and Passion

I do go less. I went from having a Premium AP (the top level at the time) for 20+ years to going one day, or maybe a SoCal ticket one or two times a year. That's a pretty drastic cut. And at this point, I'm nearly starting to think even that may be too much.

But there are so many devoted fans who seem to have zero qualms about throwing their money at the park, I fear there's going to be minimal to no impact on the park from my cut backs.

Sorry if I phrased this poorly, but this is kind of what I meant. Many, many people continue to think Disneyland is a good value. You’re welcome to think otherwise, but I think it’s fair to flag up this is appears to be a minority opinion held by super fans rather than by wide swaths of the park going public.

I mean, there's all sorts of people lathering praise on the execution of projects like Tiana's Bayou Adventure, San Franyoko Square, and (in some circles) even the Epcot redo. Disney has realized they are in a position where they can deliver at a much lower level than they used to and not alienate their base (for now).

looks great

Definitely an improvement and most likely why they took the second window in the front out to make it darker

How long did Mickeys runaway railway last in VQ? This should be a similar situation Espcially with AP previews already happening which should help demand.

They gave it on paid LL

It’s with the rest if the rides but clearly that’s why, it’s to force people that don’t get in to pay mire

Stay classy Disney when this ride Q goes to HM

Last time I rode Tiana at MK, had to get a VQ. Finally got called. It was a WALK ON. There were rows in boats if not entire boats going empty... yet they were turning families away at the entrance that had not secured VQ.

This was no special preview either. This was regular ops. I get it's not the front facing employees call to make but forget magic. Where is the competent management?

there's no evidence to suggest it'll be anywhere near as challenging to get a queue slot on Tiana's (outside the first week or so, I suppose) as it is to get one for Rise (which also wasn't particularly challenging towards the end of virtual queue on that attraction).

How has AP previews been going for getting a VQ? Easy so far or are people failing even both time slots? Going Sunday, would love to make it on.
