Got on Tiana's (is there really no thread around here? Huh) and I think the reviews were spot on.

Pros:
- It's GORGEOUS, easily the best looking ride in the resort. I could see a lot of proposals possibly happening on this ride.
- Animatronics are AMAZING. Again, best looking in the resort.
- The ride in itself is still a great time, Splash was well built
- The new additions to the queue are great little tidbits of world building
- There's some fun surprises in how they overlay certain scenes (the light shining in your eyes during what used to be a dark drop was very weird in a fun way)

Cons:
- The narrative is REALLY weak
- It's missing an element of danger to keep things exciting and to match the thrills/drops
- It desperately needs some antagonist of some sort.
- Not a huge fan of projections, but these parts feel minimal all together, so don't ruin any scenes necessarily
- This is obviously temporary, but you get WAY too wet. Like seriously WTF. Bring a pancho.

All in all, I miss Splash Mountain, but Tiana's will do so we get to keep the mountain. Most of my friends loved the ride but agreed the story could be a lot better. It'll definitely be something I hit most days when at the park, at least when VQ is over (which I think is unnecessary even now, btw -- it was a total walk on)

The Santa area should be fun if done like Pixar fest (I mean better then nothing happening in the theater)

wondering how the coco show will work, maybe at the five and dime show area?
I assumed the coco show would be the same spot as the Encanto show

Guide to 2024 Holiday Entertainment at Disneyland Resort - Disney Parks Blog

Holidays at the Disneyland Resort returns from November 15, 2024, through January 6, 2025, featuring a wide variety of festive, family-friendly entertainment such as character sightings, nighttime spectaculars and live bands! In addition to returning classics, this year’s lineup presents some...

Here is the full list with everything new and old coming back

The Resort gets like 10+ new shows during these times. I know its busy but wish we could get a handful of these smaller shows during other times of the year more.

Anyway, while tickets cost alot if you see all these shows and ride the rides...I do think you can make your 200 dollars worth it

Yeah, we bought a pair of three-day Park Hoppers with whatever we're calling Genie+ now for $520 each. It's a lot of money, but we've been doing this (going for a weekend during December) for three years now and it's honestly become a pretty welcome tradition.

Yeah, its the best time at the resort even with the crowds...just no one else is providing this much at once

Hope you guys have fun, if you see me say hey I will also be there that weekend with my wife.

(USH and sea World also do very well considering its cheaper to go to these but Disney just has so much to do during this time..they are just king for now)

has downtime been a problem in the same way it has at Walt disney world? I assume the third window is about hedging for downtime but I didn't think that was as much of a problem in Anaheim.

So I went on Tia's....took an extra hour to get on because the ride went down

Which I'm sorry....Disney get your crap together. Mickey and Minnie, ROTR, Indy and Matterhorn were all closed on Saturday morning. Mickey did open within the first hour but I know ROTR and Matterhorn took at least 2 if not more hours to open

For what they charge they need to find better ways to keep these rides up, splash is a log ride that is 30 years old and your having....issues? Some will say the AA's its funny how in Tokyo it seems like they can keep there rides up with the same tech.

Anyone on to the ride, the Q is better inside but...they they cut off half the Q and no longer does it snack from HM exit to the loading area....it just starts next to Rey's and they do have some more switch backs...but just doesn't feel big enough for longgggg lines, so we will how it goes in busy times when off VQ.

The inside Q is cute in the few spots where they tried...the mines are pretty meh but whatever. Also the ride moves even slower now that we have padi fastpass...I've never seen the line move soooo slow and its because it has two lines and at least two points where the lines meet and people could skip you.

The ride it self a solid.....7/10. Its good, now as a HUGE fan of splash...I don't care if the tech is better Splash was the better ride. Splash for me was a 9/10 but still my favorite ride. (HM, Pirates and ROTR to me are like 10/10 rides)
The story is what is mainly holding this back and thinking about it more...we could have still gotten the villain back as a ghost from the other side wanting revenge...I'm just saying its Disneyland and the story can be anything you want ROTR really could not happen in the sequels same with star tours but who cares you make the attraction as fun as possible and if your going to tell me those rides would be better if you just saw cool sets but no villains to go after you like Boba, Vader and Kylo....good for you but those rides are enhanced by the villains along with Peter Pan, Snow white, Toad (literally you go to hell)

Anyway, there are a few really nice moments in this ride visually like when you enter the inside and see the fireflies and sparking lights above you in the handing branches/leafs? the Finale also is pretty much a tie for the ending of Splash and while I do like the songs...I feel like Splash sound track and music mixing throughout each scene was a little better.

How I see it most people will just like this ride because its not.....like really that bad its good but....I feel like downgrading an attraction when GOTG and star Tours 2.0 are improvements on what came before them is just head scratching and want Disney to take more risk again....like Villains land for example.

Anyway ROTR is now my favorite Disneyland ride unless this one day does top it. But that could take away because I doubt I ride it much now, unlike MK there is no easy way to get on this...like even with LL no idea how long the line will be but when MK opened I could jump in single rider and walk on it 2-3 times in a row.

Scale is WAY off. Especially when compared to the mountain, the mansion itself, and Harbour Galley across the way which is the same size building but designed to look like four individual buildings. Oh well, I'm sure the interior is nice

Yeah, I was gonna say, while I'm sure somebody at Imagineering would be able to describe how this is New Orleans influenced... it somehow feels Scandinavian to me.

Based on this image, I think it actually does a good job of making the mountain look like it's farther in the distance by cutting of your view of the left side. It does seem aggressively large compared to the Mansion itself however, especially now that the Mansion's right side has been sheared of any concealing foliage.

Considering they just announced the new DTD stores are opening up by December 6th, which was a pretty quick turnaround for them too, I wouldn't doubt they want this open by then as well.

This is nit-picky, but in a situation like this, I wish they's do more to "blend" the building into the ground, such as have some tall grasses there (in the way grass grows around the base of a structure) or have a fieldstone foundation visible...to ground the building and add history.

Right now, it kind of feels like one of those "portables" trailer classrooms they used to bring in to my school as a kid when we had too many students....plopped down on the concrete.

And if you'll indulge one more nit-pick, I can count 16 lantern porch and pendant style lights. Feels a bit like the lighting aisle down at Lowe's.

I don't mind the overall Gothic Victorian carriage house shape, I just feel the details and theming are underwhelming.
