What's this? Disneyland's version gets the preferential treatment over MK?

Bizarre scenario where Disneyland will go from having the inferior Splash Mountain to the superior Bayou Adventure.

Nice, thank god

I doubt it will work as well as it used to....Splash Mountain used to have no wait for single rider most of the time

Vloggers

There will be a millions videos on how to save time on this new ride

I see it on the Cars ride all the time, groups of 4-8 people going into single rider to save time. I hope I'm wrong but I see this line being long for a while, heck look at SM. SM used to be a walk on as well then all the Vloggers talked about it and it gets 30 mins waits+ now

my experience with the splash mountain single rider line is that the "secret" was out many, many years ago — though I'll readily admit I haven't tried to use it since COVID. and at any rate, groups have been using single rider lines since before Radiator Springs Racers ever opened.

and at any rate, it's not really supposed to be a super-secret shortcut to the front of the line. it's a way to maximize capacity with the (hope) for a slightly shorter queue.

Yeah, Covid has changed thing

But I will note I did walk on Splash before it closed with single rider....but I'm just assuming it wont be the same. at least the first year, people are going to be looking for ways to save time and hope I'm wrong but just from seeing how SM single rider has become much longer since covid....I assume this will be the same since its a "new" ride

There's a big difference between filling four rows of two versus five single-file seats. You can't even really evens-and-odds your way to filling DL's logs efficiently.

Without a single rider line, most of those seats would be leaving the station empty. So when those groups of 4-8 get in the single rider line, not only are they saving time but they're saving time for the people behind their theoretical spot in the standby queue that they would have been occupying.

Sure but then it makes the single rider from a walk on to...20-30 mins

I'm just pointing out Splash Single rider rarely got lines, and I doubt this version will be as slow because everyone is looking for ways to save time.

Watched a Video of the ride

Its....for sure better then MK. Like not much dead space

But yeah, I just prefer Splash. It was just more exciting but I'll be on it Saturday and maybe in person it will change my mind

The Q is a little bit better, nothing insane but a little better

Just watched a video. Pacing issues are seemingly gone, if only because there's less space for Disneyland to have pacing issues. The placement of figures definitely seems more natural in this version (i.e Tiana sitting on a log at the end of a long dark hallway versus being directly next to you have a small splashdown).

Agreed, It feels like it was more made for DL version. Some of the places where the characters are feel like much better and more dynamite angles

Just watched the video.

Pacing was absolutely an improvement from WDW’s. This was clearly made for DL’s version. Scenes and AAs are exactly the same but with better pacing. That’s good.

While I’m glad we have an “improved” version of Florida’s, it still doesn’t change that fact that what we got was a colossal downgrade from what was there previously. All those animatronics have been replaced with screens. It turned out to be exactly what I feared would happen and got screenz galore on the ride.

Welp, I’m really happy that $200+ day admission and $400 Lightning lanes helped pay for those screens.

I think the story is what’s holding it back

The tech is great from what I can see, but it’s an E ticket with the sane sense of urgency/thrill as the Pooh ride next door

Obviously it has drops but they are random. They are clearly just there and don’t make much sense story wise. The rude was built with a specific story in mind and now it’s just another story

Disney clearly wanted this as a family ride but it feels like just toi made for kids when we have nothing scary at all, Snow White at least still has some themes of horror and we get more of the villains stuff.

But this is what we get, maybe being on it I will like it more but looks like ROTR is now my favorite Disneyland ride

I saw the video, while the animatronics are impressive it just has no heart and ironically for an attraction based on community and soul it feels like this has *none*. The songs aren’t memorable, there’s no wow factor, and it doesn’t feel like an instant classic. It’s cute, but I wouldn’t even go out of my way to wait for this after watching video.

100% this.
It's become really annoying on RSR now - I saw a group of 15 use the SR line on last visit. I know there is nothing wrong with them using it as long as they then don't ask to sit together when they get to the front. but I do wish there was a little less awareness of the joys of the single rider line!

Space Mountain's single rider still seemed like a secret when I was there last September. Maybe five people ahead of my group each time we did it.

Also now seen the video. Definitely better than WDW but, as I suspected, it's still the storyline that is the fundamental failing in this ride.

I've seen the SM SR line get VERY long. So long, I decided not to even bother. It could be on the shorter side now, because they can never seem to make up their minds about when they open SR for SM. It's been closed as much as open.

As for Tiana, I really have no opinion. Disney has got me so discouraged between high prices, huge crowds, and insane LL policies that are like figuring out your taxes to use, I just have very little interest in anything Disney does anymore. Not to mention the extended lengths of time it takes to get anything new. How long have we been waiting for that Avengers E ticket now? A Peoplemover replacement (or even just demolition)? Something to replace the old Who Wants to be a Millionaire building at DCA?
