This should of been put back with the rest of the Fantasyland Expansion and like the Beast's Castle, it needs to be much further back to complete a convincing illusion of forced perspective of that level. You either go really small and super detailed in the dark for height or distance (such as Peter Pan or ET) or larger but not full size and go super far away.
And yeah, good luck getting some trees to hide that thing, even from Fantasyland it kind of is a sore thumb when the rest of Fantasyland is plastic.
