Thanks for the update, Mike!

This is slowly shaping up. I wish they would have planned to open this sooner. SDMTRC is what I was looking forward to the most from New Fantasyland, and I'm afraid I'm not gonna get to experience it when I go to WDW in March. I'm just gonna skip MK...

Great updates! It's just mind boggling how long it's taking Disney to build this thing. I don't like the idea that they opened the FLE without having this built yet. Idk why but it irks me. It's like if Phase 2 opened while the Gringott's coaster was still being built.

I don't think I understand the logic of spreading out the construction so long.
Surely whatever tax savings they get are offset by loss of revenue from people putting off their trips til its done. Or simply from the waste of space.
Its the complete opposite of Universal's strategy.

I feel like they're waiting all this long time for Seven Dwarfs and it'll end up being a meh attraction.

I think so too.
It will be pretty to look at from the outside like the rest of New Fantasyland but the ride itself is I believe only two AA scenes.
I can see this being the type of ride you get off and say "That was cute" and then never ride again.
But its not aimed at me.

Yeah, I get this too! But I mean it's like Disney wants to aim for pretty rather than entertaining and I just feel like, from how it's going so far, the ride might not even be entertaining putting aside the fact that it's a kiddie coaster.

It's a family coaster, not a kiddie one :blank: Personally, I'm excited for it. This is what MK needs.

So then you are backing away from calling it an E ticket still? :pound:

I think it will be splitting the difference between Family Coaster and Kiddie Coaster. It certainly isn't as ambitious as Big Thunder Mountain which is a family coaster and it certainly is more ambitious than Barnstormer which is a kiddie coaster.

I think that there is a lot of pressure riding on this little ride. But I think in the fan community the expectations are too high for what it will deliver.

What is the difference between kiddie coaster and family coaster?? Surely whatever "kiddie" goes to a theme park are brought by adults. When I think "kiddie ride" I think of that little dragon ride at the fair. When I think of family coaster, I guess I imagine Thunder Mountain, but this is no Thunder Mountain. So this in between fair ride and TM? Consider me unimpressed.

Its a tweener coaster if there ever was one. It'll probably be a "cute" fun ride, but certainly no thrills for sure unless its a little kid that's afraid to ride anything that looks like a coaster. ...Maybe TDO under George will expedite the construction schedule now that they're seeing lower than expected FLE tourist interest.

I wouldn't say "Fair" ride. But something like Woody's Nuthouse Coaster, Shamu Express, or Barnstormer. Those are all significantly better than a Dragon Coaster at the mall parking lot carnival. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will fall between BTMRR and Barnstormer. It will be a really good kiddie coaster or a pretty lame family coaster.

^ With the money they are spending on rockwork and paint... it will be the best kiddie coaster in the world, theme wise.

I agree. Just like the rest of the New Fantasyland it will be pretty and well themed and it should have a bit more thrill than most kiddie coasters. It will be the most AMAZING kiddie coaster ever.

It even has swinging cars so grandma and grandpa can take a nap while on the coaster :pound:
