From Disney Parks Blog

Gaston at New Fantasyland: ‘There’s No Man in Town Half As Manly’
Previews for New Fantasyland are just around the corner. As the date gets closer, we’re happy to be able to share more and more with you about this largest expansion in Magic Kingdom Park history.

Within the Enchanted Forest area of New Fantasyland, the world of “Beauty and the Beast” comes to life. Enchanted Tales with Belle transports you to the Beast’s Castle for a wonderful storytelling experience with Belle and Lumiere, and over in Belle’s Village, you’ll soon be able to meet another memorable character from her story – one with biceps to spare!

ibrdnpsmcWgvaj.jpg

That’s right. That man among men, Gaston, will be tromping around the village square. As a specimen, yes, he’s intimidating, but he’s also everyone’s favorite guy, happy to pose for portraits, comment on the fine statue he has donated to the town or just generally talk about, well, himself.

You can ask any Tom, Dick or Stanley, and they’ll tell you Gaston will be in New Fantasyland when it opens for previews November 19.

New aerial photos from Scott Keating and WDWMagic. Everything but the coaster and Tangled restrooms look just about complete.

For those in Orlando, today might be a very good day to go to the Magic Kingdom, and pronto. I'm getting ready to head there myself.

Aesthetically, this whole expansion is beautiful. I am looking forward to just walking around on the passholder day and looking at all the details. While not the most exciting in terms of attractions, pretty much all of MK, this is still going to be a solid addition.

so it seems there are changes to LM after all...something about Ursulla's death is more emphasized? Anyone there care to elaborate what makes it different?

Didn't like LeFou's Brew as much as Butterbeer. Triton's hair and beard are solid white cloth as opposed to hairs, which I'm not sure is better. The first Ariel AA is stunning.

The Mermaid area is visually stunning, just amazingly beautiful. Unfortunately real life is calling me to my job...I'll probably be back tomorrow for more.

I just watched a video. Only thing that looked different was Triton's hair and beard.

Area looks fantastic, as I always said it would. Belle's Glorified Storytime Meet and Grope had a 50 minute wait on a random day in October. That thing's capacity is gonna be TERRIBLE. LeFou's brew being more expensive than Butterbber is hilarious.

Just found out from a source how Lumiér's candles work! Guess who owns the patent:

http://www.faqs.org/patents/app/20100079999

Appears Brookstone has licensed the tech

Thanks Mike! Did you take that lead picture of Lumiér? If so, do you have the super high res version of it that you could upload?

I will say I thought the animation of Ariel getting her legs looked...well, pretty bad, or just awkward at the very best. It's like they didn't use the film character model for that at all. That's the only major nitpick I have.
