I'd say 60-75% of those ideas are quite possible with how much Comcast is investing in the parks.

If they did decide to put some serious money into a transformation, why not turn San Fran into Tokyo? UC can certainly rework the Disaster show building to accommodate many ride system types. I'm thinking F&F ride as trackless vehicles themed to cars with giant 3D projection tunnels (to give the speeding through the city effect) between a few detailed show scenes.

Interesting idea, converting the SF buildings to Tokyo, hmm.

So we'd have New York....Tokyo....London.

Talk about a "big 3" of worldwide cities all in a row.

I really hope this movie does well. Not only does it look actually amazing but it would make a insane 360 attraction

I think this ride would be perfect if world expo were to turn into Tokyo, then it could take the place of MIB and they can build a fast & Furious ride near on the mystery/expansion plot

It depends if this movie does well, since its set in san fran I think that's where it fits best but good thinking. as much as I adore MIB the theme of the land doesn't make sense anymore. I honestly would like to just see MIB re skinned with another property since the ride is just phenomenal on its own. If they made a re skinned MIB with use of the fear factor live stage and expansion plot i'll be a very happy camper for a new land

The only problem is finding a Tokyo-based sci-fi property that's NOT Godzilla (He's too perfect of a replacement for Disaster)

Space Fantasy as a shoot 'em up dark ride could work if there was an anime/sci-fi subland within Tokyo.

Best case scenario for a Tokyo land:
Space Fantasy replaces MIB as the anchor of a anime subland
Hello Kitty gets a boutique and carousel along the Universal waterfront
Pokemon gets a mini-land where Fear Factor is (interactive Pokemon battle show along with Springfield-esque recreations of the Pokemon Center, Pokemart, and the Saffron City skyline)
Fast and Furious takes 80-85% of the MIB/Springfield plot
Godzilla replaces Disaster
We all live happily ever after

I don't know about Pokemon, Nintendo is pretty ridiculous on their rights. They bought a sex shop in japan because they had knock off Mario characters on a pair of panties. No way would they let a American theme park take over their properties that easy. I don't know as much as I like the idea of space fantasy and hello kitty would it work for a American park? I know hello kitty is a merch machine but I don't know if the characters are memorable enough for a ride even a flat ride

If Fievel and Barney got attractions, I see no reason why Hello Kitty couldn't. Pokemon is a long shot but it's the only other major Tokyo based property aside from Godzilla and F&F (which only has one installment based in Tokyo)

I don't get everyone's fascination with F&F being in Tokyo. It was one movie, no Walker, no Diesel, it bombed and it was just straight awful.

If there's a Fast & Furious attraction I'll bet anything that it doesn't take place in Tokyo.

Yeah this Tokyo thing has nothing you can base it off but it would be a killer land, imagine the signs!!! Fievel had a good personality and was in one of my personal favorite animated movies. Barney was insanely popular at the time. All kitty has outside of Japan is merch. All I know is kitty is happy and chococat XD

Amen, the new F&F tram attraction is set in Los Angeles, not Japan. If they put it anywhere in USF, it would most likely replace T2/3D.

I think it has more to do with the idea that many of the cars are Japanese, and the tuning culture was basically imported from Japan.

Also Diesel was in the movie at the end.

But they would have to do a T2:3D sort of attraction with it then. There is not enough room over there to do some massive ride.

Not that I'm against this, but a 360 or Test Track style ride is much more suited for the material. That said, Godzilla is born for a T2:3D style show.

Ugh, the area locations are really screwing with the potential here! :P

I think it is because people want to see another big city and figure F&F would fit in Tokyo because of the film. I'm kind of against the whole Tokyo thing though, don't want Godzilla and you could put F&F anywhere if you really want it.

COULD work. To me, seems like Disaster is the most likely candidate for replacement with this. Kong got the massive upgrade from it's 360 concept, don't think F&F will be as lucky, based off it's merchandising, food & drink, etc.

So by replacing Disaster, it's taking up no space for future expansion of other properties that can sell more across the board, while replacing an attraction that's mostly forgotten about with something totally relevant and easy to keep around years after it's done pumping out films. Win/win.

Well...they could finally make Richter Burgers good, maybe adapting the Toretto's Italian restaurant idea..

I still stand by my idea of cars on Kuka arms in a 360-esque attraction

I'll stand by you on that too, 360 3D is the way to go for a disaster replacement

Something like Test Track would be pretty cool for this kind of ride. I don't think they would do something like Spider-Man again since Transformers just opened up and it would be repetitive. The launch coaster would make more sense if it were a dueling launch coaster. To me, the Test Track idea makes the most sense. There could be indoor action sequences and finally an indoor version of the outside portion of the ride. Is that even possible?

this would be great

Have any of you done the Italian Job Stunt Coaster over at Kings Dominion? A ride like that for F&F would be really cool.
