I don't get why people are writing this off so fast anyways. Just because it isn't Test Track featuring Vin Diesel doesn't mean it will suck. Even if it ends up being an exact clone from Hollywood (it won't), that is still better than Disaster to me.

I think some people (myself included) are sort of "writing it off" for a couple of reasons:

1. Given the IP, which would naturally lend itself to to a fast-paced racing ride or coaster hybrid, all indications are that this is going to be a slow-moving attraction that simulates the action and speed.
2. The park is losing another large-scale practical/physical attraction (complete with giant moving setpieces and copious water, fire, spark, and smoke effects) in favor of one that (based on the Hollywood iteration) will predominantly involve looking at a ride film.
3. It will be another 3D attraction in a park that's already full of them (and will be even more full once Fallon opens).

Could the ride end up being fun and/or better than the Hollywood version? Absolutely. I'm fully prepared to give it a fair hearing. In a vacuum, I have no problem with a "plussed" version of Hollywood's attraction (with that plussing hopefully involving making the CGI much more convincing); it's more that I don't see the ride adding any variety to the balance of experiences USF should offer. But I'm open to being proved wrong by the ride when it opens!

No. It appears it will be somewhat similar to the vehicle being used in Kong.

Basically every issue I have with this attraction summed up..There are some great 3-D attractions spread throughout the park...however, it's time to try something new..This attraction will have people scratching their heads if not..The only thing I'm looking forward to in 2017 is VB to be honest

Not exactly.

Last I saw about the ride car, I believe someone said here on OU that they'd be bringing VDL back to do another main ride vehicle for the case of F&F..What its themed, is the mystery. If I was smart; I would think that they would theme it out of the car that Hobbs drives, but that's my thoughts.

I think we need to do a makeover for you. Maybe get you booked on one of those TV fashion shows. Then they'll remember you.

By the end of 2017, we're gonna have T2, Shrek, Transformers, DM, Fallon, F&F, and Gringotts just in USF. Then you have to add Spider-Man, Kong and likely FJ in IOA.

I love the tech as much as the next guy, but do they ever step back and really look at how much 3D they have in their parks? It's sensory overload and many adults have motion sickness, which means they can't do a lot of the current attractions in the parks.

I would include Simpson's too, since it is just a screen based simulator. Not 3D, but still being shaken around in front of a screen.

I say ditch Shrek, T2, and Simpson's for more traditional dark rides. Obviously Simpson's would still be Simpson's, just not a screen based sim.

Yep. Simpsons is pretty much DM, just without the 3D.

So take away the coasters and screen attractions and what are you left with at UOR?

Not much.

Well my point being is Universal seems to get into phases and kicks, for better or for worse. There will always be people complaining Universal isn't doing something or another. What I've heard seems we're in the last throws of these styles of attractions (3D! Simulated free fall!).

i don't know why this has so much hate. When i think about whats been described so far the ride kinda sounds like the great movie ride just with a single movie which universal has enough thrill rides so a slow moving ride brings more diversity to the park and drags families away from the rides you may love so its a win win

I freakin hope so. I mean, I like the attractions individually, but add it all up and it's simply too much.

Please let Nintendo be the thing that bucks the trend, or will SLoP be first? I can't keep track.

Since HTF said something changed about F&F, could it be that in testing the Kong RVs they came up with some new ideas on how to better use them in F&F?

If there has been a change at all, I would think it would have been to the ride track which is really really really dull. It's almost a simple oval...

They're making a right turn. Oh their making another right turn. Oh god, their making another right turn, oh what's next!?!

In all honesty, I'm curious to see the changes in the 360 room the most.

From what I understand, they are aware Cali's reaction wasn't overwhelmingly positive and are trying to improve the attraction. Don't know exactly what that entails.
