Boring stuff... but are 2 and 3 both fill and drain? I suspect 1 might be overflow prevention?

1 looks more like conduit work for show elements that will be position near the bank of the pond.. Can't imagine they'd use what looks like 2" pvc for overflow, especially arranged in a cluster like that.

but no two huts in the entirety of Scottland can look the same...?

Intamin's newer track switches are lightning fast.

That would probably one of the best reference points for how the switches on Potter will be.

Yes, the switch before the vertical on potter appears to be that exact kind of slide-rail switch.

The sound Intamin LSM's make is probably one of the most satisfying noises ever - especially as they heat up with power.

Back to answering your question Joel, I am wondering if the line of thingys on the right hand roof of the building might be skylights of some kind. If not that then perhaps they are just neat piles of construction materials?

Yes and it will be even more unique here because I think the launches in the straightaways are going to be build ups to the final one, so u might hear whoosh whoosh whoosh at 3 different pitches from low to high

@Alicia When you make your new map, are you going to include the parts of the track that will be inside?

The track has to be potentially half covered by now I think with what we can see being built?

Wish I had time right now, but I’m too busy enjoying the parks hehe. Yea, I was going to try to incorporate the inside and underside bits in a new version.

At first I thought those vertical black tubes were launch tubes for pyrotechnics, but I soon realized they're probably rolls of tar for the roof.

One of the beams on the left seems mismounted as it is connected to the very top of the center post and not set down 12” like the others...

AND.... Look at the extention ladder on the right in this picture for scale. I had NO idea that those beams are so massive! They must be 8”x8” if not more! Incredible.

Oh yea, this thing is massive. It’s gotta fit a whole coaster train, a half giant, and a beast inside after all!

I’m assuming this is more for the interior aesthetic than the outside.

Yes, all the outside is not stained but the inside surfaces are.. I expect a roof but nothing inside to obstruct the view. Hope lighting is placed to show it off.

I'm still looking for how they support the one over the coaster entrance. From what I can see it is swinging in the breeze.

I must apologize for not realizing the scale of the wood framing. Now I am completely stymied why they went with real wood. Short of some of us geeks, few will notice it if the building is full of robots moving about.

I chalk the extravagance up to it being Potter and “what’s a few hundred thousand extra here and there”.

Have to agree, once the roof is on what is the point? Maybe they got a deal at "beams 'r us"?

I find it nice that they are possibly recycling wooden beams from a old building for some authenticity. Gives it real character.

Always cool to see Universal integrating thematic elements into the physical structure of something, rather than working with them separately.

Maybe WB/Rowling demanded the wood beams for authenticity?
