At night the "abbey" could have the cold moonlight effect they put in the castle show. Still be ruins but lit by moonlight.

I think the "led strip" is a water mister for smoke effect.

Great photos! A fire effect would be consistent with those roof timbers looking burnt / roof tiles missing - burnt off

Edit - actually the post from @tielo makes more sense - perhaps smoke after the fire
