The first site update is usually just the generic HHN page with tickets for sale. Usually the updates don't happen on the exact same day as previous years either, just close to them, but I would expect it to happen sometime this week. We'll see. I'm just glad we're close to our first update.

When did the site have its first initial update last year? Usually by mid-June, right?

Probably, I mean I don't like it when people say they will do something and then not do it on time.

It'll update when it updates. I'm significantly less concerned about that. However I would love to know the audition schedule....

And on the note usually the updates happen in the afternoon around 2. The only time you'll get an update not in the afternoon is something with Legendary Truth (evening), and the big reveal (11 or Midnight-ish)

I wouldn't sit around waiting for the generic site update today. As I said yesterday, it rarely happens on the same day as a previous year. For example, 2009's first, generic update happened on June 2nd. They don't tend to stick to a strict annual schedule.

I'm interested in that audition schedule as well, the only thing I don't like is that they are in the middle of the week on a Tuesday or Thursday, thats the only thing that sucks.

Don't they post the auditions somewere on Universal site? I know that HOS auditions(reunion) are early part of July. So they should have posted them somewhere. See if i can find anything out..

I just checked the site and it currently says "Performance Dates Coming Soon!" You can register for audition alerts here though: http://universalauditions.com/orlando/online_profile1.asp

I also checked the auditions thread from last year and it seems like the dates were released around June 18th.

I dropped a line to Chainsaw wolf, if any one would have a clue he will. Hopefully get a general idea. All i know about the auditions is that you need to get there early or you wait a long time.

For those who have been scareactors how many people actually audition and make it. I mean they have what 1000 spots and how many apply? Also do they really only hire those who have open schedules? Do they pass up on those who would only be available for weekend work?

I would think they would take anyone wanting to work the weekends... seeing how it was way understaffed on the off peak night I was there last year

Well I'm going to probably audition for ABU, it leaves you open for possibly working any event and since I live in Miami I don't know how often I'd be able to make it.

I have an inkling of when auditions are going to be just from when they were last year (every Tuesday in July till they were done). My guess is they'll be the 5th but I heard the 7th as well (for reunions).

Every audition day is crowded (easily over 1000 people show up). Once reunion auditions are done, I'd guess there would about 100-200 new hires every week (that number quickly shrinks as auditions continue).

An open schedule IS a big factor in getting hired. The more open dates you can do, the better your chances are. It's a good idea to figure out what your availability might be in September and October (these include event nights and rehearsals). However, they do hire a large number of active back ups who aren't required to work every event night, so you might have a chance with that.

Best advice would be to know your schedule ahead of time and be memorable at the audition. Make a joke, show your enthusiasm, whatever. You're gonna be one in THOUSANDS of people they'll see, so give it your best shot.

Quick update: Once again the site hasn't updated and the permits haven't updated.

However (according to the permits), reviews for fire (B), electrical, and the building (B) will start today and hope to be done by the 21st.
