THIS!

Spook knows more than I (don't tell him though his head is big enough already) as I went once along time ago before IOA was built and didn't go again until 2005.
I dont remember much from my first time, just the chainsaws running at the crowds waiting at the gate and the roaming SAs.
15. was a blur, literaly, I had lasik done three days prior and my eyes had not adjusted yet so I really had a hard time seeing in the dark.
16. decide to stay closer to home and just did HOS
17. I turned 40 at HHNs 17 and drank a lot, it was the end of October and some house waits were over 200 minutes.
18. was the first year I really, really enjoyed, went earlier in the season and pass holders got in early and that helped alot. Loved the zones and houses.
19. A great year, IMO, had lot of fun.
20. was the first year I did the tour and it was a double edged sword. I loved the tour it was great to get the photo ops and inside info. Not so great was to be told all the cool stuff in the house and NOT be able to see half of it during a walk through at night. The New Era left a bad taste in my mouth as I thought it was just OK.
21. was another great year, just with a really weak theme and Icon.

Scary Tales III
Catacombs
Dracula
Wolfman
Silver Screams

And this whole time I thought you had more HHN's under my belt. :lol:

I honestly remember some moments of 16 more vividly that some from 17 and I attended more and went through all the houses multiple times. I guess it resonates more since at the time it was all so new and fresh.

I went in all of the houses in '07 and for some reason I just can't remember anything at all about Dead Silence, or Dreamwalkers. Everyone always seems to have them way up there on their list but I just can't remember any of them it's like a blur.

For those who asked Museum of Horrors was easily the most intense house I've ever been through with Thing: Assmilation #2.

Back then the SAs had to rely on old fashioned scaring instead of all of the audio queue scaring we get now in most houses. So all of their movements, looks, acting, and screaming had to come from them and not a speaker. Also it was a double run house so it had 2 paths on either side.

Another good house at HHN 7 was in the disaster queue called Tombs of Terror which was the original maze with the Rat Lady in it. If you thought lines were long now, back then with only 3 houses was baaaaaad.

My Top 10:
* Demon Cantina (these are in no particular order, but probably my favorite house of all time)
* The Hallow (loved the idea of exploring Halloween mythology)
* Body Collectors (the operating theater = single best scene)
* H.R. Bloodengutz (best...comedy house...ever)
* Winters Night
* Catacombs (I'm a sucker for a "History Channel" house--loved Poe, too)
* Psychoscarapy—Home for the Holidays (any of the three Psychoscarapy houses probably comes close to being on the list for me)
* Scary Tales II or III (the one with Cinderella and Wizard of Oz)
* Frankenstein (2009 version)
* Legendary Truth

And just for the sake of discussion, my bottom 5

* Terror Mines (great concept, never worked for me)
* Interstellar Terror (never felt enough like a spaceship to me)
* Reflections of Fear (might not be here if it wasn’t meant to be the signature house that year)
* Cold Blind Terror (was too warm, too well-lit, and too understaffed to be terrifying)
* Blood Ruins (strange, but The Coven, which had basically the same theme, would be in my top 5 scare zones)

Some of your choices are interesting to me. But that my friend is why there is vanilla and why there is chocolate.

I liked Legendary Truth but the more I went through it the more I didn't. I would say it falls somewhere below the bottom of my list now, but not in the bottom 5.

I loved the rehash of the theater in Body Collectors 2. One of my favorite scenes, I even loved in Hallow'd Past.

I really liked Interstellar Terror. I thought it was intense and fun.

Was Terror Mines worse to you than People Under the Stairs? I personally didn't get to go in PUTS in '06, but I know a lot of people disliked it.

I have to ask just because I remember me detesting it so much, and still not liking it. Vampyr '07, not on your bottom at all? Thoughts on Vampyr '07?

Vampyr 2 the club one was basically a Blade house...PUTS and Cold Blind Terror are easily two of the worse houses ever...PUTS with black garbage bags for walls, and Cold Blind Terror with soo much space of nothing..

My top 5, in no order.

Screamhouse
Dracula
Psycho Scareapy
The Thing: Assimilation
The Hallow

Catacombs comes close to that top 5, so I'll give it honorable mention.

Oh yah thats another one thats a real big blur to me, the only thing I remember about PUTS was the queue video and porta potty as well as it being very very dark. I think out of all the houses I have ever been in PUTS and Dead Silence are the biggest blurs to me.

Best part of Puts by far was the shotgun effect.

I will say vandalism took a heavy toll on LT as the event went on. A lot of little details present the first two weeks were gone by late October. The Nightmare on Elm Street house was similar--early on it was good, but eventually too much of it just always looked destroyed. [Was still a good house, overall.]

Just didn't gel for me. Not sure why it's easier for me to suspend disbelief that I'm in an old castle or house rather than a futuristic spaceship, but that's what it came down to, I think.

PUTS is kind of my weakness. In college, we had a "movie channel" that was basically just five VCRs set up in the AV department. For whatever reason--probably someone in the department liked it--PUTS played in heavy rotation. (I also saw New Jack City more times than I want to admit, to give you an idea of the era.) You watch a movie drunk with your buddies enough, it becomes a MST 3000-like guilty pleasure.

You can imagine my surprise over a decade later when that obscure B-movie was suddenly a house. No one else had even heard of it, let alone seen it. So nostalgia clouded my view of what was a thrown-together PoS.

Also, Terror Mines was touted in the early promos as a contender for house of the year. Much like the Bloody Mary house, I took into account disappointment with houses that felt like they should have been better.

If this is the one I'm thinking of, I remember thinking HoS did a better job with the "club" theme, definitely found it below average and fairly short as i remeber, but not to the point I hated it. The part where you went outside into the alley briefly made it slightly more interesting.

Scary Tales 3 had the Wizard of Oz and SC2 had the pumpkin in the corn field as well a the three little pigs with chainsaws. Also 3 was in the parade building and 2 was in the Popeye and Bluto extended queue. Hope that helps :thumbs:

Yes, last year they had a house called Nevermore: Madness of Poe. It took you through some of Poe's most famous works.

^ So, this house appears to be over the top in detail. I don't hear anyone saying it was a great house however. Why not?
