It was incredibly detailed, but didn't pack on the scares, it was much more immersive

It was definitely a great house. Probably #2 on my list from last year. But there were a few rooms that I thought fell flat, most noteably the "Raven" room that was just a black hallway with raven-people.

But the "Pit and Pendulum" room was awesome!

Masque of the Red Death was probably my favorite. The dancing effect was pretty dang spectacular.

Funny, that was my favorite room, but the house over all was lack luster IMO I found the HOS house more enjoyable.

The costume from the Lon Chaney film has and still is my favorite of all time. It was reproduced very accurately in the Broadway show.

I can't find the dancing effect you speak of on youtube. Anyone know where I can see it?

Poe was my favorite till I went to Nightengales.

I got my best scare in Pit and the Pendulum, but Red Death is the scene I most remember. The dancing was pretty dang cool, I really had no idea what was an actor and what wasn't.

I gave it a sort-of "honorable mention" in my list. It was a very, very good house--but probably overshadowed by being in the same year as the best dark humor house ever ("HR Bloodengutz"), the best 3-D house ever ("In-Between"), and two innovative soundstage houses with tons of scares ("Winters Night" and "Nightengales"). There have been events Poe would have been in the discussion for house of the year, but 2011 was an unusually good year for houses.

That was my favorite scene in the house, I actually walked straight into one of the mirrors on my second walkthrough of it, the effect was that good. I loved the staircase scene(the largest tent scene in HHN history), and was baffled every time I walked through of how they managed to fit a house of that length and scale in a tent.

I just found the creepiest picture! Sorry that I could only find a lower-resolution image.

First public audition is July 17th. Thought I'd give a heads up to anyone auditioning this year.

You can make an appointment at universalauditions.com.

Looking at http://horrornights.be/updatecheck.php I'm almost positive we'll be getting our real teaser either Tues-Thurs of this week or Tues-Thurs of next week. The teaser has never gone live on a Monday or Friday (to my knowledge) and I don't expect for that trend to really change.

I retract the previous statement. I doubt it will be Tuesday or Wednesday due to the 4th. Thursday is slightly more probably but taking the 4th of July into consideration probably next week.

Also everyone on Nightmares is freaking out that Universal hasn't filed a permit for a 6th house, so take that for what you will. On the same token, there is footage from 2007 that shows Vampyr wasn't finished with construction in August...granted that house was terrible.

Regardless of what happens I will still have fun at HHN's this year. I mean I can live with 6 houses one year for the sake of possibly adding three Eticket level attractions over the next three years.
