Yeah, HoS just ain't going to be a bigger player with the state Busch/Seaworld is in. Sure doesn't help when major influential people in the creative team have been laid off.

Now as for that trip and presentation in the UK, apparently there was supposed to be an' announcement on what the next film would be used at HHN this year.

ScareTOUR - As a few people have asked - here is the... | Facebook

The announcement didn't happen due to contractual delays over merchandising.

Must be Werewolf. Nothing else has an obvious UK connection.

I know for a fact Xstudios gets at least 20k from HHN for the website. Have the old website designer come back and make interactive websites like 2008 - 2009 keep us busy during this time.

This gives me the feels. I worked on the HHN websites from 2005-2007 - doing the modeling for the interactive 3D Maps, and basic flash coding - under the designer you mentioned. It was a sad (and one of my last) days when the marketing graphics work was announced to become outsourced. From a management perspective I can see why - you can't argue with a proposal that costs less than one employee when you have 5 on staff.

I wouldn't jump to that conclusion. They have a great relationship with Landis. Seems weird after 2 years, they would now have issues with merch.

Budget cuts in 2013 resulted in the laughable travesty that was Afterlife. But it's just too soon to start freaking out.

I still shudder every time I think about that house. It was by far the worst haunted house I have ever seen in my life. I would've preferred 7 houses to that travesty.

One thing not being mentioned is that Comcast/Universal/NBC or something in that umbrella of corporateness likely has a some kind of corporate rate worked out with that hotel. I'd be surprised if they paid more than 40% of rack rate for that hotel.

I'm thinking they go with Scream next since AWiL was done only 2 years ago.

Going back to the discussion about the trip that Aiello made to London - I'm so happy that happened! As an Irish annual visitor - who stumbled across the event properly 3 years ago thanks to a broken leg delaying our trip - I would love to see more advertising over here.

I had seen minimal stuff about HHN before our first visit in 2013 from going on various forums, however no advertising at all over here, but, because I was in hospital for 3 weeks and had nothing else to do aside from research our impending October trip, I decided to dig a little deeper. I found out from this research that it would definitely be something I would be interested in. There are literally no haunts at all in Ireland, so even though I had seen a little about the event during previous years research, I didn't understand what it actually is.

As a horror fanatic, if I had known for our first trip in 2011 exactly what HHN had entailed, I would have went in October for it, as opposed to August. With literally no awareness over here I had to go looking for information to discover what it is. This year is our 5th Orlando trip in a row and 3rd HHN, with plans to continue this tradition every year. When I try to explain HHN to friends, I am met with a blank stare and people repeating the same question "Why do ye go to Florida every year?" If there was a bit more awareness and advertising here, maybe we could get our friends interested in joining us, rather than having to sit them down and try to show them our pictures etc. to try to garner interest.

For example, my fiancees friend from college and girlfriend were staying in Cabana Bay the same time as us last year and we tried to get them to HHN for a night with us - they laughed and said "A load of teenagers dressed as ghosts? No thanks!" Now I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, but if there was a little more hype in Ireland and beyond in the months leading up to it, they may have had an idea of what it was and perhaps joined us! Not everybody does intense research before a holiday - even though they should!

Apologies for the rant, I'm just excited that it may get a little more coverage here, and that prospect may encourage friends so more than just the 2 of us will be returning in years to come - and still kicking myself that I missed out on the craic those 2 years we went in August instead of October!

Indeed. They also probably wouldn't want to "reveal" American Werewolf in London for the same reason they haven't revealed Walking Dead - potential for bad press. Walking Dead and AWIL are both "repeats" (even though the former won't be a repeat in practice) and that'll catch the ire of both us and the general public, if last year's reactions hold. My guess is we're dealing with Scream - pretty sure that IP has been very difficult to nail down (Hollywood only had Scream 4 a few years ago), so they could still be moving some chess pieces into place.

If it's Insidious, Blumhouse may want Uni to wait until it's closer to the home video release to announce now that the film hasn't taken off much. But that's all my spec.

What amazes me is some people (here and other places) actually defended that house! Tried to say there was always a "bad" or "underwhelming" house, or that my expectations were too high, or that it was "fine" for a 3D house. I get that not every house can fire on all cylinders, but Afterlife was straight up amateur. Again, I know that one suffered the most from the year's budget cuts, but what was there didn't even begin to make good on the intriguing concept... and frankly, In Between and House of Horrors showed A&D can produce excellent "last minute cheap" houses.

Anyone else having difficulty reading and posting here the past couple days? The pages have been taking forever to load and the alerts drop down pretty much won't work at all.

I think it looks nice and clean, but, to each their own.

Meanwhile, should be getting another announcement in the next week or so if we mirror last year's schedule.

I think this refers to Scareactor roles, now that the auditions are in full swing.
