Would absolutely love a Lovecraftian house ... on the other hand, it is difficult, because it is not a visual kind of horror, the essence of it, is something that just gets in your head and creates obsession just because it does not fit within our narrative categories.

Oh I would very much disagree. Krampus was a TERRIFIC gateway horror film/horror comedy. It easily became one of my favorites.

As a horror comedy it was defintly superb, and I found it really well made. I am weird when it comes to horror though. I grew up with stuff like Friday the 13th, then got Romero's Day of the Dead on VHS and I was: wow. Then I saw a documentary on horror once and the video store (in Belgium where I grew up) had none of the films mentioned, then later on with the arrival of DVDs I started finding more movies (living in the US by now), then as the internet became bigger, amazon got bigger, netflix came, streaming came etc. I got to watch more and more ... Anyway, one thing that always stood out was the middle period of Dario Argento, especially Suspiria and Inferno, obviously budget always are lacking in these movies, but I always found the styllization to be quite sublime. (Then of course Argento lost it somehow.)

I mean, Disaster queue wasn't much better than Jaws queues. I only saw one good house (granted, it was a GREAT house) in that space in the 5 years I went.

I'm also leaning with @Drew that it is Krampus, strictly on that the Blu-Ray is releasing today; adding a potential way to cross-promote the IP that is Krampus (even if I think that they are going to be handled differently on BOTH coasts.
