Why is their no one talking about this? It hasn't even been open for a year, and it's been closed for what, 3 days.

It's been closed since yesterday....

It's maintenance. It happens.

Anyone have an idea of how long this will last?! Will it be open for Mardi Gras? I'm sorry but I'm freaking out.

And what about guests that have early entry access to the parks? The thing isn't even working.

No excuse. Maintence should be planned for/scheduled on the calendar so guests can be aware. It shouldn't have happend unexpectedly, especially when it's the only real ride in this expansion. Extremely disappointed, especially with the fact that no time frame has been given for how long the closure will last, whatever the length may be. It's obviously better to close the attraction than have an accident happen but there are going to be many upset guests if this continues.

I'm sorry but how do you not foresee a multimillion dollar, the top orlando attraction having to be closed for a day (and counting). So from one day to another something went wrong. You know thats bull. And if it did, someone needs to get fired. Hope Universal has foreseen a way to comp at least guests staying onsite. Free butterbeer or something.

They should at least leave the quene open.

Dude are you serious?

Do you have any idea the INSANE engineering feat that this ride is? Sometimes things break and need to be fixed. Especially on complex pieces of machinery. Sometimes that takes time. Calm down.

Because it's unforeseen. It happens to any theme park. They'll try to get it fixed quickly. If it needs more time, they'll release something about it. I don't know what else you want us to say?

It's no different then planning a trip and after it's booked, the park decides to close down an attraction for extended refurb.

I think we could all agree that it would be interesting to know exactly what needed to be rebuilt or replaced. It is somewhat out of the blue.

Hard Rock told me last week that Diagon onsite early admission hasn't been available for a few months.

And it takes a lot of time to also save up enough money to go to Universal. I'm serious because I'm going with a group of 6 people that have been eager to see Diagon and ride Gringotts. Having to get 6 people to get approved for their days off from work is a mission. The hotel is booked and everything. It's not like we can all go whenever we want. I've ridden the ride before, but the rest of my family hasn't.

It certainly does!

But the company can't be blamed for an unexpected problem. Sometimes these things happen. Hopefully whatever it is will be fixed.

I'm sorry that it may impact your trip. I really am. I booked a trip in 2012 to Disneyland and found out a couple months later that Indy would be down during my visit, so I know the pain. It's just one of those things.

I understand your frustration. They obviously didn't do it on purpose though, and I'm sure they are working as hard as they can to fix it. But I still understand where you are coming from. Hopefully they get it back up and running before your trip, dude.

I remember ShieKra having major downtime after it opened for a year or two...New attractions will always break down...Gringotts is extremely complicated and will continue to mess up every once in a while..

Okay, so I just called guest services and the representative told me that he just received and email saying that it was going to be closed in the morning but to checkout throughout the day. He said that it looks like they will be opening soon because they have been working on it. Keeping my fingers crossed for this Saturday.

He also said a lot of people have been calling.

I hope that's true. I talked a coworker into taking her kids to Universal in addition to Disney and she is heading down from MA tomorrow.

They must believe they can have the problem fixed pretty quickly since they did not put it up on their calendar. Like Briman said, it sucks when a ride goes down that you were looking forward to (I also was burned by the Indy shutdown of 2012 and it was my wife's first, and so far only, trip to Disneyland for our honeymoon).

Clearly this had to have been something completely unexpected because there's no way they would purposely shut this down right in the middle of Mardi Gras. Word on the street is that they're being very tight-lipped on what the main issue could be.

Fingers crossed we get a resolution to this issue soon.
