We rode today but did single rider so I do not know about the audio in the main queue. This was probably our 5th time riding across three different trips up here.

Personally, I feel this was my first ride where everything worked as it should. This was the first time I felt water (although only a couple of drops), it was the first time I felt the heat at the correct time, and it was the first time the fog effect covered the screen pulling away as well as keeping enough cover such that i couldn't tell the screen was now open until we were going through it. If the screen had been damaged, it was replaced as there was no gap in the screen during the scene.

I'm not sure if they tweaked the ride profile any, but it seemed the vehicle turned more properly than other times I had ridding. I recall one time ridding on a prior trip where we entered the room where the pull away screen is and the front car turned to the right instead of the left while the back car we were in stayed forward. Today, both cars moved left for the 1st part, moved to the center for the next, moved right to see the dragon approach, then moved back to the center. The fog seemed to form a tunnel around the cart such that I never saw the screen pull away and the fog kept in my field of vision until we left that room...

Me, I'm still blown away from the amount of design and thought put into this ride! I always seem to be sitting on the end and find myself watching how the track section seems to provide most of the movement....how ridding in the first or second cart, you still see the troll in front grab your cart while the 2nd troll stands to the left of the first...anyway, just taking a break from the cold (for us folks from south Fl) rain....

Wow, conflicting info bigtime.

HTF says everything looks great but didn't mention the cutaway hole at all.
Frank says the screen cutaway was better and worked fine.
Now Felipe says it is just a hole in the wall, no kuka cutaway pulling back.

Was it not working today at all, or was it shut down later in the day...?

I have to assume it was working fine when HTF rode. He definitely would have mentioned that

Well Orlando Informer is saying that a car crashed through the breakaway wall a couple of days ago and that's why it was down for a few days.

This sounds absolutely impossible unless the power failed at a precise moment in time and every backup battery failed etc. etc. etc. (there are a truckload of etc.s on this ride)

Addendum. This has to be a lie or miscommunication. The cars don't move until that screen is out of the way, therefore power would have nothing to do with it as those spinney tires would not have propelled the cars. Remember, all of these coaster type vehicles are equipped with reverse break systems; meaning, only power releases the breaks, otherwise, they are always engaged and breaked'ed'd.

Finally, if the cars could ever hit that screen, then they would also have hit the kuka arm as well, causing severe destruction to both the train and the kuka and likely the track.

Silly...

None of that could have been fixed in 3 days.

Man, I'm confused now. If a train did hit the screen, I would think it would take more than three days to open the ride still using the effect, I mean I just feel there would be big time safety concerns about using it at all.

Part of me could justify that it is possible I didn't notice the screen pulling away for the first time because it no longer does.

What I cannot phantom is me not noticing a break in the screen during the scene. I am always blown away by how continuous the screen looks in that room. I really would be shocked if I totally missed a hole in it while the train is stopped in that room....from things I've read around here, i couldn't imagine Warner Brothers even allowing it.

But I do not know anymore, I was shown a picture of a dress today that was clearly blue and black yet everyone around me was telling me it was white and gold...the mind is a strange thing maybe I am just getting use to the ride, last time I rode was in September and I know today was my first ride where i didn't notice anything where I said 'that part was off a bit'

The report from OI didn't sound like a derailment. The quote from OI after they described how the Kuka arm & screen works..."For some unknown reason, there appears to have been some sort of glitch that prevented the screen from moving out of the way in time, resulting in the vehicle smashing into it". For whatever that's worth. Sure sounds like it's working now from Frank & HTF's posts.

That guy was making a joke on when they reported that gringotts derailed back before it opened. He is just calling bull**** on OI.

And I myself find it near impossible for that to happen. Unless they were testing new code that they were playing fast and loose with.

Got in line around 7:45 and was on the ride by 8:00p. Everything was working great - fog waterfall, water, heat, but the break away kuka screen was missing.

I do not believe OI's report is completely accurate.

I haven't rode the ride yet, so I don't quite understand. Does this mean that they have taken a scene completely out? I would hate to think that my first ride would be an edited for tv version of the original.

No, but a portion of the dome would be gone.

Geez mcfly, haven't you watched the POV videos of the ride? The entire ride continues as is... merely with a hole in the climax scene screen.... the hole isn't supposed to be there, but it is very low and to the right... many might not even notice it as the projections are epic and that area finally fills with fog. It is more neato than necessary.

If the break away kuka screen is missing, ugh. That's my absolute favorite effect in the entire ride.

OI has a story on the shutdown. They claim that the Kuka arm moving the fog ending screen malfunctioned during testing Tuesday night and the car crashed into the screen, damaging it. They said the ride is operating today without that screen or effect. Anyone know if this is accurate?

The story of a vehicle smashing into the screen sounds like bollocks to me ... anyway, am going tomorrow with my parents (they live in Belgium), they have never been on Gringotts, so hopefully it will work fine again.

No, I have purposely stayed away from those because I want to enjoy it for the first time without spoilers. The same as I'm doing for Despicable Me, Transformers and Kong.

Is it possible that the kuka arm failed while the car was part of the way through? Basically, the kuka pulls the screen up, the car starts moving, kuka blows a hydraulic line or something, and drops the screen on the car/in its path, etc. It would be a scenario that would explain how the car and screen could collide.
