Sorry, you really can't judge the ride by these videos. In person it's simply brilliant (except for that voice).

Could you describe for us a bit more about how the imagery looks outside of the window. I've heard from many reviewers that it looks completely convincing, but I'd like to know if it it looks 3D? Does the view change somewhat if you move your head from left to right? I'm still very curious about exactly what kind of tech was used.

It's not 3D like a 3DS for example, but the curvature of the screen makes it feel like it is actually looking outside. I couldn't really figure it out. It's really difficult to describe. But looking outside the window on both ends you don't see where the screen ends or begins which really sells it.

It's just perspective...The distance between the window surface and the screen along with the curvature of the screen tricks your brain into seeing it as being outside, and sends that signal to your eyes...

I think it's smart to do it this way. I think full 3D (like the kind you see when you use glasses) actually looks less lifelike. It works better for thrill rides maybe, but the train should look more like a real life situation.

I seem to remember the cabinets on the side of train that house the domes were refitted (made deeper) at one point. Perhaps the illusion in the original version wasnt convincing enough and needed tweaking to make it more realistic?

More info about having the actors coming back for filming, from a new interview with Thierry Coup:

"SnitchSeeker: How did you get all the actors back, years after they were already done filming?
Thierry Coup: We called them. It was not difficult for most of the actors to think, “Well, you know what? It was so much fun. We loved playing those parts. We want to go back and do that.” So, I think we mentioned earlier not all the actors were part of that. Emma [Watson] and Daniel [Radcliffe] unfortunately were not available – but they were not available for some of the scenes in the real films. They used digital doubles, so it’s really no different.

They look really like they’re there today. They’re there just as much as they are in the films. You feel like they’re there and all the rest of the cast was with us and it just made it so much more rich to be able to bring Bellatrix and Voldemort and Bill Weasley. It was huge for us. For myself, it was probably the best thing I’d done in a long time – or ever – to be able to direct this cast and to be able to create this attraction and bring them to life for all our guests to experience. It’s huge.

SnitchSeeker: I know Rupert filmed. What did he do specifically – with not too much spoilers?
Thierry Coup: When you go on the ride you’ll see Rupert is in the Hogwarts Express. He’s in the main [Gringotts] ride; he’s in the queue. The same way you saw him in the films where he comes in the car and goes through the Thieves Downfall, and you see him with Harry and Hermione and Griphook. He’s right there."

He's portrayed very well, he makes an awesome entrance and it looks like he's actually there. And the final battle is something straight out of the movie.

Just came across this picture apparently taken during a Gringotts evac. It was posted a little while ago but don't remember seeing it on here. By the way, this set looks amazing.

Voldemort is played by Ralph Fiennes, and his interaction with Bellatrix is spot on. I just wish he didn't give up & retreat so easily in the finale battle ;-)

Can someone who has been on the ride tell me if you can see the track ahead of you during the ride?

You can at some points, but at others you are facing sideways and only see the sets/screens.
