Universal announces The Shining is coming to Halloween Horror Nights – Inside Universal
So let's take guesses at location....I'm thinking same SS as last year's Exorcist would be good.
Movie or book?
Edit, like most I don't read before I post. It is the movie.
The Shinning? They're basing a house on a Simpson's episode.
The house will be based on the movie.
Glad it's not based on the mini-series.
I do feel sorry for the scare actors who have to repeat the same scene 147 times to get it right.... oh. Wait.
So are they going to hire 7-year-old girls to work HHN for a bunch of drunks or what?
They'll do the same thing they did with the Freddy houses, or Orfanage. Find girls who are on the short side.
It's likely a soundstage...
Fun fact, it turns out Kubrick didn't do that many takes. Only around 50-60.
Still. Looking forward to the elevator scene, the axe scene and, of course, traversing the whole house on a tiny tricycle.
They should make this an upcharge offering, I would do it!
I was thinking to replicate the snowing.
I would say this puts to bed the chances of King ever working directly with HHN.
How do you mean?
I think this is going to be a tent house. Specifically the one that enters by MIB. That way they can build a kickass Overlook Hotel facade, probably with snow, and you'll exit the house into the hedge maze for the grand finale.
Very excited about this! Definitely going to have to attend HHN this year.
This is probably my dream IP, as its one of my favorite horror movies, and I honestly thought they would never get to do it. I know there's a lot of risk for disappointment, but I'm going to retain some hope that this will be a winner. That said, sounds like they might have to get creative ala exorcist, but here they have the advantage of more interesting locations. Hoping this goes into the SS they used for exorcist and AWIL.
Typically unsurprising IP house. Le sigh.
