I agree with MacMillian, it would be very expensive for monster-based properties such as Resident Evil to come to life but I wouldn't doubt that the end product would be fantastic. There's a few properties I could see coming to HHN in the future that are games like Resident Evil as mentioned before, The Evil Within and MAYBE... POSSIBLY... kicking and screaming... a FNAF game. It's food for thought but I feel as if game mazes are a bit taboo now with the community.

I don't get why games are so taboo right now, the sole video game Hollywood's had was pretty good(Silent Hill). If any maze were to be done I feel like it'd be Outlast since the sets wouldn't be very expensive; and if we had enough money and a soundstage Bioshock would be amazing

Silent Hill and Resident Evil worked since they both delve into the video game and film fandoms where fans of both the games and movies could support the properties. But since the studio has a say in what IPs can be pursued for promotional purposes and how many people can be drawn in to the event, I feel that those in the head offices, not Murdy and his team, are really hesitant with video games that don't have movies attached to them. They want popular properties, which is why we probably also don't get a lot of original-story mazes.

Considering I've wanted properties like Hellraiser, Trick or Treat, IT, and Stranger Things which have monsters/giant creatures involved, in the future, the studio hopefully may invest in properties and therefore might be able to pull off these films and shows. As for this year, considering the budget had to cover an extra eighth maze, they'll see how this year performs before getting really ambitious and trying to pursue really effects-heavy properties.

Edit: I agree exactly with what you said about the video games, with FNAF getting a movie I just pray that the higher ups let that one slide

But anyways, according to rumors 2/4 of those properties might come next year *God we need Hellraiser one of these days*. If this year goes well I could see next year having a larger budget and more detailed mazes, and hopefully an original one too

FNAF is a case of "high risk, high reward". It could be a really atmospheric/genuinely scary maze or it could be TITE (chills shot up my body saying that) all over again.

I never expierenced the Alice Cooper houses but were they also high risk high reward? I never experienced the first two so Im not as big of a fan of them but I don't see why it would come this year besides John wanting it to.

The sad thing with soundstages at Hollywood is that they're constantly being used for filming and storage, so since HHN would have to take a backseat for permission to use them at the event, we have to rely on the temporary tents. The Alice Cooper mazes were honestly really good, but I preferred 2011's a little bit more because of the diversity of monsters in it.

Never experienced it but from the looks of it, it was a pretty safe maze.

2012's Welcome To Hell was okay, but I wasn't really a fan of the 3D. Even when I went through House of 1000 Corpses the first year in 2010, I felt the 3D only worked with Captain Spauldings section at the beginning and the rest was pretty much overkill.

Oh; my bets on the Conjuring replacement are either

(1) Alice Cooper
(2) Alien
(3) It

How was Black Sabbath? It looked really good and seemed to be more original than the usual rocker house

I would love Alien to appear this year but honestly, I would really want a maze that we haven't heard of, hasn't been at any of the events, won't be leaked and is top tier HHN material.

Black Sabbath was amazing, tied for first that year, with Insidious. The diversity of monsters, the sets in the 747 stage worked, like War Pigs and Iron Man scenes. Plus hearing the new album at the time being played out loud at the event was awesome.

Same; I wish we could get more original mazes since the ones we have gotten(El Cucuy, La Llarona, the Asylum) have all been really good. My dream Hollywood maze would be for Nightengales from Orlando to come to us, the concept is amazing and any historical house is fine by me.

Personally I LOVED Black Sabbath, just because it's what really got me into that style of music. I can understand why it got a lot of crap, it really wasn't that scary and there were a lot of reused sets and gags. However I thought it was just awesome as a fan of the music

It's like an infinite amount of monsters and beasts to choose from, whether based on the creative minds of the event, or focusing on old legends or myths to bring to the event. Yet, like I said earlier, I understand that with original concepts, they're sort of gambling because they know that utilizing popular properties (Saw, Insidious, Halloween, TCM, Friday the 13th, etc..) will for sure bring in crowds, even if they've seen these before.

Sad but true. A return of Friday the 13th would be pretty good too since Jason hasn't gotten a solo house in a while and Camp Crystal Lake would be pretty fun to see in a solo maze. I think if they were to go back to having a lot of slasher icons they should give Chucky a proper house, Pinhead one, and Ghostface one. Ah one can dream

With the whole Orlando-Scream fiasco, I put Scream in the same category as The Conjuring. Though the past few Friday the 13th houses were pretty good. I just hope that this year ends up being successful enough for next year to be more ambitious with choosing more never-been-done IPs. But I am looking forward to this year; just wish we'd get an announcement soon.

The scary thought that the announcement is not the week but next week for Comic Con.

If that was the case, and they revealed a maze once a week, that would mean they'd finish in mid-August, which is when AHS was announced last year and the same week tickets went on sale.

That's the main reason I hope this year is a success(besides that I want it to be fun). Imagine if next year we got a ton of heavily requested mazes that no one even thought of, and they all had big budgets too. *Twin Peaks is rumored for next year so keep that in mind*
