I was expecting so much more with the huanted house. The price is expensive. It takes one person like what, 20-25 min max to complete the course. Its like $ 60 for a familiy of four for one little course. This seems like such a let down. The prcing should be like $7 extra per person if they want to play the second round.

You're playing some very fast golf if it only takes you to 25 minutes... that's just over a minute per hole for four family members? Good luck...

The course is high quality in a premium position. Its price reflects that.

We took a little over a half hour for the one round on sci-fi saturday... more if you include the wait to tee off at the next hole from time to time.

I believe that, like Disney, there will be some price adjustments. I believe that Disney offers such good deals because their courses are off the beaten path and aren't usually all that busy. Given HDIMG front and center location, they may have to offer less incentives than Disney.

What a surprise. Universal goes all out with something and you think it's a letdown.

I'd gladly pay 14 bucks for this. They're both high quality courses, and are only 2 bucks more expensive than Disney's course, which is fine by me.

Because they're in the dumbest locations possible.

I love Winter Summerland, but whoever decided to put it there instead of by DTD or somewhere comparable was an idiot.

The expensive argument and the time argument are invalid.

-If we're looking at a family of 4, it could easily take them 90 minutes to finish one course, if not longer. In comparison an outing for a family to the movies without popcorn is around $40; with popcorn and drinks, same price.

-Putt Putt on I-Drive and at Disney aren't that much cheaper than here.

-Since this is 3rd party, I genuinely think they will try and push coupons for this.

-The prices will more than likely be adjusted to be more competitive with the market.

-There are already implemented discounts from what I inferred.

I would also like to note, the main reason for this course is to get guest to stay on property and not venture off during their stay. This leads me to the theory that Universal Resort Hotel guest will get a decent discount.

Also what it does is for people not done having their fun, it gives them a reason to stay in CityWalk. Because if you are exiting the parks, decide to do this, then by that time you will be ready for Dinner which you will just stay at CityWalk with all their great dining options, and then maybe see a movie.

This is what happened this past Friday night. We did dinner, then mini golf, then a movie. Then strolled around CityWalks had some drinks, danced, then called it a night.

For all you peeps playing at home as an annual pass holder I dumped a lot of money into CityWalk... soo kudos universal!

Parking: Free
Dinner: $85.00
Mini Golf: $24.00
Movie: $22.00
Drinks: $30.00
Total: $161.00

again Kudos Universal for getting me to spend a ton of money, when I just live up the street! lol

On the surface it seems expensive..but as everyone else is saying, IDrive mini golf is just about two bucks less, plus AP holders get a discount. It's fun, it's something new, and if it is too expensive for people coming in, they won't go and the prices will drop. Still, fun as hell though. We got some video of just about every hole, mostly of all the cool effects. Love both sides, but for some reason the horror side just seemed more fun
Horror Side:

You must definitely play at night, all the lights and dark corners make everything more fun. Another video, this time of the sci-fi side

Are we seriously calling $14 mini golf at a theme park expensive? Really?

Heck, I wouldn't consider $14 mini golf in New Orleans (where I live) expensive, and I'm not a 10-15 minute walk from Forbidden Journey. Some movie theaters charge $14 for tickets now. To quote Gob Bluth, "COME ON!"

Just judging my pictures, Ghostly Green. Love the horror film nods, theme park nods, and the tombstones. It's a fanboi dream.

Personally speaking here is what I think:

Ascetically the Horror side is better, however play wise, and story wise, the Sci Fi side is better.

Is what this guy is saying true? If your friends want to play but you don't, they force you to wait outside of the complex and wait for them to finish because management doesn't want people simply accompanying whoever they're with who may or may not want to play? I have NEVER seen such a weird rule like that, or even the fact that it was enforced.

Yes, that is true. My dad had to pay to go on the course, even though he did not play.

I know it stinks, but think about it from their perspective. You could bring your friend who doesn't want to play along and you could just trade off with your club and ball. They're manning the front of the complex - they don't have the time or ability to monitor if everyone's being honest.

Exactly...

and part of mini golf, a huge part is the atmosphere, especially for a high quality venue such as this. No one is able to go into the theme parks and promise not to ride anything.

Or they just don't want a bunch of people loitering around or getting in the players way.

I guess I can understand their reasoning for the rule, it just seems odd to me. Like, its discouraging a few families that may want their children to play but the parents don't want to.

This. The course is in the middle of a huge entertainment district. They can't have groups hanging out in the course where only half of them are playing, and the other half are just hanging around.

The paths are small, and are intended to funnel people through the course. If you aren't playing you really have no business hanging out on the course.

I found $12 and change with the AP discount reasonable, but while paying Thursday evening, looked across the counter and saw they had a form for "People who walk up, ask the price and walk away" and one for "People who ask the price from a distance and walk away." Looked like 30 or 40 hash marks a day. The courses seemed almost empty while the parks were still open (guess it was 5 - 5:30), but had a steady stream of people once the parks shut down. My guess is we might see the price come down a dollar or two, but will probably see a more substantial daytime discount.

As for the courses, both are great, but I'd give the edge to Planet Putt for overall immersion and playability (I may be biased because I did this one at night, which I highly recommend). Ghostly Greens has more in-jokes, tho. Either way, easily the #1 and #2 courses in Orlando, trailed in the distance by the rundown Winter Summmerland courses and Pirates Cove LBV.
