The shortest wait I've ever had to wait was like 10 minutes and after i got off it was like 45 minutes and that was at like noon. but its never been dead when I get there I have always seen it busy. it really is too bad that is having all of these problems because it really is a fun ride with being able to choose your music and all to listen to on the ride.

Just checking here to see if anyone had any news on why it was closed...I had originally thought they were going to shut it down to theme lights and music to HHN? what happened to that idea? So now Im guessing its just going to be closed the whole time. Pretty bummed since Im going down Monday for a 5 night package to do HHN and Harry Potter. i did get to ride it last year and thought it was a really good ride but super bummed it wont be open.

Nothing new, and I doubt we'll learn the details until a while from now since leaks from UO lately have been non-existent.

From UO's Facebook

Hi all. Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is temporarily closed because we’re doing maintenance work that includes its annual maintenance. Due to the nature of work, we find it’s best not to announce a re-opening date until we're absolutely ready. We’ll be sure you're among the first to know. Meanwhile, please continue to enjoy the many other exciting attractions & experiences you can only find at Universal Orlando Resort.

They won't announce a date because they don't know. Anytime any kind of maintenance is done, a date is ALWAYS announced.

We shall see how this unfolds.

Exactly.

This seems like a quick PR move.

Well thats a big bummer for those of us that only get to travel there once a year. I was hoping it was just a trick to surprise for HHN but Im guessing defects now after all Ive been reading...Oh well maybe next year. That Forbidden Journey better be working lol

This is definetely not only because of annual mantainence. HRRR was supposed to be open during HHN so they wouldn't extend its closure to a time when it was already advertised to be open unless it was an emergency.

Quoted for truth. Universal can spew all the PR BS it wants, but the facts remain - Rockit was supposed to be open for HHN, it was advertised on the employee maps and pulled from other maps at the last minute. This would not have happened unless they absolutely HAD to. Annual maintenance is not a "HAD to" reason.

For anyone walking around the park in the past few days is there anything noticeable going on or is it eerily quiet within the station and ride area?

No, it's quiet. There's a couple TM's up front telling you it's closed, and that's it. My guess is that everything is happening in the maintenance building.

Oh yeah, Forbidden Journey is doing pretty good recently. I haven't heard of any huge downtimes. The most technologically advanced ride in both parks is going really well, however the roller coaster with on board audio is not.

If there is not anything visibly going on then that makes me think they are waiting on parts from Maurer Sohne.

Hey guys made it up yesterday fine went over to citywalk to watch a flick afterwards we headed over to the Usf entrance and the work lights at the top of the lift hill were on, I wonder if that is the problem and maybe the rollback is messed up.

That is a valid point Vyrus, but the lady I spoke with said: "It is closed indefinatly, and we will inform the park when it is open again."
