No, I understand it very well. It's simply not enough, however, to 'give up' on it. The ride is simply great, especially with the experience given by the music and lighting effects. It's simply out of the question to demolish it, and Universal is trying everything possible to fix it up. I believe it is possible, and that the precautionary measures taken were good ones. The ride will eventually get better.

Hahaha i dont want them to demolish it it just has millons of problems but some are seiad to be fixed but are not.

Instead of shutting it down, they should embrace the danger of potential valleying, cracked parts etc. Simply bill it as an Extreme Coaster for HHN and charge an extra fee to ride it. Will you live? Will you die? Will you just be horribly disfigured? Try the R.I.P. Ride Rockit and find out.

Haha, R.I.P. Ride Rockit.

The ride is not shut down for good. They're just fixing up the problems with this ride.

I agree with you 100%. The ride is great, and I think it will eventually become a better ride.

Look, to all those who are hating on this ride, if you don't like it, don't ride it. Simple as that. I understand it isn't the best coaster ever, but it is definitely on my Top 5 (but then again, it will probably be bumped off when I go to Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott's Berry Farm (possibly) next summer... :P).

I was not aware there was still a choice.

Everyone is giving up way too quickly on HRRR, when, in fact, it is getting better. I'm sure Universal's finalizing everything for the audio/light systems as well, so it's up to the re-testing of the ride to guarantee its improved condition.

I can assure you, it's not going to be that easy.

Well, I'd assume it not to be. If Universal closed this ride for Horror Nights, then there must be a larger problem. This problem, however, cannot be so difficult as to announce a closure for some 3+ month rehabilitation, and should be solved within the next 1-2 months. Unless, of course, Universal announces a longer closure date than the aforementioned, which is unlikely.

I can say to not make plans to experience Rockit as it's closed for annual maintenance.

I agree with with Lance (Screamscape) that this is really going far out on a limb... but still worth mentioning:

There is a big rumor flying around many of the Orlando centric fan sites claiming that the problems with the Hollywood Rockit are so severe, the park may end up removing the ride entirely. While anything is possible, the chances of this being true at this point so low that they are hardly worth mentioning. If true, we would more than likely be hearing stories about a huge lawsuit brewing between Universal and Maurer in Sentinel, but since that hasn’t happened yet, I think everyone should cool their jets a bit about the Rockit until we know more about what’s going on.
At this point all we really know is that there are problems and issues keeping the ride shut… and it’s no secret that this ride has hardly lived up to anyone expectations as far as providing an enjoyable ride experience to the guests. Anything beyond that is really wild speculation at this point. I’ll keep digging to see what more I can find out, but lets keep the sledgehammers in the tool shed for now.

Haha, yeah I know. :P I haven't been to any parks outside of Florida yet (other than Europa Park and Santa Cruz).

I think that is just another Screamscape rumor (at least I hope so).

I doubt UO would go as far as to remove the ride completely, that makes no sense. Then you would have a hole in the firehouse in NYC and the point of the new stage is completely killed.

The ride is fixable, just like anything is. The first step is the coupling, the second is the wheels.

The most important thought is the programming which syncs up the trains and allow them to run at full capacity.

The other thing they need to do is have a no turning back line on the ground. If people are not in the train by a certain point in the track with the restraints down, they need to take them out and send the train. Because having to slow down because tweedle dum doesn't know the concept of "pull down" hurts the ride as well.

Yeah, I agree that the station is a little short. I mean it's still workable, but with the way the people of the world are (fat and dumb) it means that extra time has to be taken to ensure their safety on the ride. Unfortunately, extra time on a continuously moving ride means a longer platform. They learned their lesson on Forbidden Journey though! Once your vehicle gets tagged to dispatch, you're sitting on that belt for a good like..20 seconds before you take off.

While I agree with you that is unlikely the logic you put forth may be outweighed by problems Rockit may or may not have.

For example.

Universal is not going to put in a millions of more dollars just to get the ride running and still have no gurantee if the problems will return or new ones arise. They also won't be able to advertise it as a new experience anymore now that it has been around. If they plan on sueing the company that does not mean they will be able to keep fixing the issues from factory. So it may be more likely just to tear the entire thing down and save the future hassle and money of trying to find manufacturer's to fix the issues after they sue Mauer.

The stage still functions as a stage with or without a coaster so not sure how you got the logic of that being a waste (since thematics are non existant in this coaster its not an issue to have a hollywood bowl style stage right there for events) and the hole in the firehouse...purely cosmetic and can be easily fixed.

The load platform can be modified with some extensive work to accommodate a longer load platform, but alas that is the least of this coasters problems at the moment. Shame.

Why would they remove it? It is still relatively new and the issues they have ARE fixable and can be done with more time. When I see people leaving the platfrom, 9 out of 10 seem to have really enjoyed it. It's WAYY to arly for them toeven consider taking away the Rockit

and the Rockit is in my top 5 and I've gone to MAnY parks all over the world. Remember sometimes the experience is more important then the thrill factor

Absolutely true but I don't find speakers in the seat and a music video for purchase much of an exprience to the coaster and thus Rockit for many provides neither.

Also, minding the note you made in bold. I would put operations up there somewhere too.

But as any business would be smart enough to do, you make Maurer come and FIX the problems, and then once they correct their mistakes you sue them for lack of a good product. And it probably wouldn't even have to be a suit, I'm sure its something that would be taken care of in mediation.

Maurer knows they messed up, UO knows they messed up by not waiting for B&M, but its too late to do anything about it and to tear down a ride of this magnitude this soon has never been done before.

UO will make Maurer fix it, then ask for monetary damages and move forward.
