Jurassic World VelociCoaster Construction Thread (Opening June 10)

If Universal wants to be a world class destination theme park resort, they need to have their parks open later for their resort guests that pay good money and travel long distances to visit the parks.

They'll get there with the upcoming addition blitzkrieg as outlined by Lord Steve Burke today. More attractions, more food and beverage, and a nighttime show for IoA = greater hours.

For these positions they almost always hire externally, and usually someone with an MBA.

Yeah, and they are mostly uncreative male *******s. Just hang out at DTD marketplace around lunchtime and look around at the young neckties sans jackets. A company I once worked for hired one of these guys from Disney. I ripped him a new one sooooo many times in emails as he was always trying to offer "creative ideas" to my team. He was as creative as a cinder.

Someone posted the "pitch" teaser for Jurassic World earlier. Not to spoil anything, but it appears to be built around Pterodactyls. Could lead to some interesting ride ideas - hopefully at least more interesting than Dino-soarin at USS.

Yeah, I saw that. It was very pro, but it didn't feel Lucasfilm to me. Seemed more like a top notch student piece without the hundreds of digital artists necessary to massage it into hyper reality. (The destroyed surf shack was just not detailed enough)

If it was a pitch piece, it wouldn't have been done by top notch guys anyway. Pitch pieces are just done to give the studio a quick feel of what the director is going for.

With that being said, Universal said the piece was fake.

Pardon my ignorance, but is LucasFilm involved in this new film? Were they part of the previous films?

the only real association Lucasfilm has with Jurassic Park (aside from ILM) is that Kathleen Kennedy produced on the previous films, and is now the head of Lucasfilm under Disney. It doesn't seem unlikely that she is still involved in the production stages of a new film, but the fact that she is essentially being paid by Disney means that she may be excluded from these projects. I seriously hope not though; I loved both the book and the movie for the first two.

I can assure everyone here that the clip in that Youtube video has no affiliation with Universal Pictures or the upcoming Jurassic World film. It uses the wrong logo which anyone making a pitch video would easily have access to and involves a story that is most certainly not happening in the current script.
