^ & ^^, those movies werent already part of hit franchises. Jurassic Park is already a proven IP. But I get it, I should never say never lol

Even so, thats not really the point though. Someone said if the movie made X amount of money, the expansion should include this much, but if it makes Y amount of money it should include that much. Cancelling a project because an IP bombed is a lot different than going through the trouble of tinkering with it because of slight differences in box office.

I don't agree with the numbers idea of basing an expansion off box office numbers, however i do think that the success of the film can play a big role in the expansion. It is all about how well the film is received. We have to remember yes jp is an established IP, but it also hasn't had a movie in over 10 years and hasn't had an absolutely good movie in 20 years. The point is I think universal is gauging how relevant the franchise still is with this release and if it shows it is still extremely popular we could get a more elaborate expansion.

Thats a good point. Although I would think its as simple as "if the movie gets X amount we build an expansion and if it gets Y amount we wont", I can see what youre saying. I guess either way we'll have to wait a while to know for sure.

It is that simple sometimes though. There's been a few occasions where plans are made and attractions are designed but if the property it's based on flops, then the ride's a no-go. Van Helsing is another example.

But that's not so much of if it makes x or y amount of $, it's if the movie is a hit or flop.

We got some interesting things but take this with salt. So Next year, The river adventure might be Updated and this comes from a CM at USH so take it with salt. It'd be to add new things and renaming the ride to the new film.

(with appropriate salt taken) Hooray! I really hope the animatronics get an update, and not just a paint job, but an actual update to the dinosaurs' mechanics, to be up to par with today's technology. Or, at the very least, give the dinosaurs non-hand-puppet mouths, so that there isn't just an easily visible bend in the rubber at the backs of their mouths

I will say that I do agree that those numbers are terribly low for a JP movie, especially in the summer. However, I do feel that if the movie is a major success, I do see sequels and considerable changes to the expansion plans at Universal

That F4 reboot is going to be terrible. why cant disney just get back spiderman and xmen so we can have this avengers squad

Terrible? Ehh not so sure about that. The original F4 movies were pretty terrible but this guy that is in charge of this reboot is pretty great. Ever seen Chronicle? It's going to be a gritty reboot and the new F4 cast are all fresh and exciting casting choices. Expect some pretty solid marvel entertainment come next year.

To be honest, with all the new stuff Universal has coming I would be more than pleased to just get an updated fresh take on River Adventure and a new E-Ticket. We already have an amazing Kong attraction coming with Skull Island to the area, so I'm not asking for too much of an expansion at JP. The refurb for JPRA and a new ride(Amber Mine) would be plenty for now. But even if a new ride doesn't come to JP for even a few years I do feel like they should at least make some big needed updates to River Adventure within the near future.

I really dont think the land needs anything else. A updated discovery center sure but thats about it. I feel like im one of the only few who likes JP the way it is now. Just a beautiful relaxing island. As Accio said above we are already getting kong. just add a refurb and a E ticket and its done

Not really an E-ticket. A D-ticket family coaster or an Epcot-style Omnimover (maybe both since others hinted that some of the Discovery Center's current space would be used)

IOA needs some D-tickets everywhere but Seuss and LC  both of those need an E-ticket anchor ASAP

D is what I meant absolutely. Totally agree with you there. Every island should have a E ticket

Don't get me wrong though, you can never ask for too many Dinosaurs! But this for an expansion would definitely make me a happy Uni Fan Boy. If anything else I would want some new scenery in JP. Like you actually get to see AA Dino's around the island? The music and the forest thing does give you that feeling of being put in the middle of JP but the Dino's would just complete the immersion. But honestly, the refurb and new E Ticket would be more than enough for me. I would rather have them concentrate on updating and making other areas better like Kid Zone, Lost Continent and Hollywood area where T2 is. That area is nice and all but It definitely needs a new attraction to spice that area up more. Does anybody know when that museum is coming in place of the Villa's?

Oh I never thought of dinosaurs around the park aswell like the spinosaur and Tiffany figures around the land that's a brilliant idea. That would totally add a ton to the land and if they made them animatronics or puppets they could probably be more interactive than the transformers!!!

Anyone have any idea why the entry areas to the Trike Encounter would be cleared of shrubbery? I was at the parks yesterday and they were moving all the bushes blocking the paths...
