I'm pretty sure it'll be as soon as you walk in you'll the the temple. They want to be able to see the temple on the waterway and the placement might be too confusing for some people if it was walkway. I don't even know if there is room for a walkway. Most of the walking is apparently in the giant temple queue

Remember that side of JP is not on the lagoon.

It isn't but since this temple is going to be huge you'll apparently be able to see it on the lagoon, kinda like doctor doom

I went to the park the other day and now that Ive seen the clearing in person (where Kong is supposed to be), I can imagine its placement a lot better now. They have plenty of room to widen the pathway there and make an entrance to the new ride (getting rid of the ice cream cart thats there now), and then move the archway back to just before Thunder Falls. There's actually plenty of room to make an apparent Skull Island stand out enough to be its own island, so long as they extend the pathway into the clearing. It really wont be too crowded if they extend the path which Im sure they'll have to. Then, it'll be a seamless and not-too-awkward transition between Jurassic Park and Skull Island.

Hmmmm, when you go back to the park can you take a photo of what you mean? I wont be returning until august, so by then and with all the construction moving from USF to IOA (unless Diagon team moves to Kidzone) there should be alot more done by then.

Great that they decided to do Kong for the 2015 anniversary!

I'm curious about the archway and if they could move it, that would be a project on its own. What about JPs music? Would you hear it in skull island? I need to go for myself and check it out because just thinking about it in my head doesn't make sense

I like the idea of moving the archway back near Thunder Falls. This essentially keeps Skull Island separate from Jurassic Park, giving Kong his own land. If that is indeed the case, they'd probably have to re-theme that entire pathway between Toon Lagoon and Thunder Falls. For instance, having the same themed pavement/pathway surface in both SI and JP just wouldn't look right.

I just hate the idea of Kong cutting into JPs space, hate the idea of JPs expansion getting the shaft for Kong, but love the idea of the Kong ride.

For the toon transition I think all you need is some skulls on sticks and a giant door like the movies, nothing that big. What I do want for sure is a speaker that'll play kongs roar in the distance. That would be cool

^Hearing Kong in the distance would be pretty cool. I'd like to hear some jungle ambience(monkeys, birds, etc) as well.

Kinda expecting 75% to move to Kong, while 25% do smaller projects and begin prep work for KidZone. After the new year, I'd say 50% KidZone, while the other 50% is finishing touches on Kong and smaller projects. Once Kong opens in June/July, KidZone's probably going to go full speed ahead... unless Comcast decides to add more construction workers, in which case :doggie:

JP will get its amber mine coaster/Discovery Center dark ride (I have faith that Comcast can find a way to fit both) eventually... or maybe even something from Jurassic World?

Kong is one of Universal's big franchises and JP really didn't have anything else to make an E-ticket out of. Plus IOA definitely needs more family attractions (which Kong is supposedly, since there's no height requirement)

So, Jurassic World has a ride called the 'Gyrosphere', which is a ride "that you can get in and ride around in the wild to get up close to the Dinos." I wonder if they will try to incorporate that into the park.

PS- petting area in Jurassic World is called 'Gentle Giants Petting Zoo'. Camp Jurassic rebrand incoming? There is also an area called T-Rex Kingdom which I suspect is for rides as opposed to Dinosaurs.

Sounds like we are getting a entire land retheme!!! How they are going pull any of this off I don't know but it seems like they added these rides into the movie just for the theme parks

As excited as I am for the new movie and future additions to JP. What I don't want is Jurassic World the new "theme" of the island. I don't want anything to tarnish the reputation of the original Jurassic Park movie, if that makes any sense? But I definitely would like to see a new attraction based off the new movie when it comes out. Also even though it's on the back burner, I'm still in love with a detailed E-Ticket Amber Mine coaster idea! And the only reason I'm not too upset about that or complaining is because we are getting our beloved Kong back. And in a big way! So beggers cant be choosers. Especially with all the future projects coming to Universal Orlando.:kingkong: =

I'm sure we will all watch Jurassic world and think to ourselves "I want to go there" like we did when we first saw Jurassic Park. With all the talk of this being a complete theme park I can't help but be excited. I can't wait until the ride pictures get leaked

I truly question if Jurassic World's imminent release had anything to do with JP's expansion delays. IF SO, that can be a good thing, or a bad thing.

If the movie is a hit and opens the door for a brand new trilogy, then I suspect JP's expansion to be quite grand.

However, what if the movie isn't successful? Not saying it will falter, but what if? Would a poor box office run hinder JP's expansion plans even further?

I think JW was definitely a big contributor to the delay. Why the hell would you make a woodie and kiddo area when you can wait a couple years when you will get a literal theme park to make things off of? I'm almost certain the movie will make records at the box office and it'll definitely not be a bomb by any means. I'm betting on a retheme in 2016 or 2017 if the kidzone plans don't go through. By then we would probably have a announced sequel and audience response by that point

Guys (or girls), do we not fully understand that Jurassic Park is already in the park? It doesn't matter a lick of anything if Jurassic World bombs or banks as to what Universal could do with the land thats already in existence. They will expand, destroy, rebuild until their hearts content regardless of how many failed (or successful) reboots they do of this franchise. Universal is not waiting for the movie to come out. They have other priorities...bigger...hairier priorities.

I promise you when this movie comes out does insanely well in the box office, this will be a big priority. Possibly for 4th gate if the environment is drastically different

Did you people read that the main dino is going to be a genetic mutation... spliced with a cuttle fish so that it can change appearance and blend with its surroundings. Could this be true? That's a tight stretch...
