Still waiting for my scratched out plans on a napkin. Jeeez, everyone is so friggin busy doing their jobs. That aggravates me.

So, sorry for the delay on my further explanation of this project. I am not sure that it has a number, but I can tell you that it does have a name which is packed somewhere in my trunk, so I am unable to "DIG" it up right now.

Hmmm have a feeling I know where you are going now. It was neat the first 2 times but afterwards was kinda just meh. Don't know if it makes a ton of sense for JP out of all the other islands.

It seems like a rather small "hole" from the pictures so are we to assume it is more for infrastructure for whatever is coming to this site?

That is a solid acre of land, so I am bewildered how much of it will be used, if any. Maybe 1/8th? If it is more than that, I will burn my Florida Resident AP. :look:

What is "it" and what is "meh"?

I was trying to be all mysterious like you, from the picture and what was inferred I would have to guess an archeological dig site similar to the one in AK

Oh... thanks. No, that is the project name. I have no idea why but from what I have seen in the past, it has little to do with the subject matter. The joke might be "Dig up Trike Encounter" for all that I know. This will be a meet and greet dino encounter of some kind. So a less expensive version of Trike Encounter that is far more popular with guests.

According to the Audition Site!

Universal Orlando® is seeking Puppeteers with experience animating full body puppets for all new roles. Previous Animated experience is a plus. All candidates must be 5'7" - 6' in height, have a slender to medium build, and be able to carry 55 pounds of distributed weight.

Excellent find!

So the plot thickens! I wonder if they'll have a character like Chris Pratt's Owen from Jurassic World as part of the experience? Or just the generic lab technician? Either way I'm excited!

It would also be cool if they had a photo-op like the speeder bike one near Star Tours, but with Owen's motorcycle with 4 of his raptors in running stances around the bike!

This could be for HHN, but it'd be great to see puppeteering used year round.

I hope nothing with performers' legs exposed.
I was hoping something more like the raptor suits from the first movie. I'm not sure how feasible it would be to have a performer in it for extended amounts of time under the Florida heat though.

If you all want a little background on what is being created, I believe the company below will be responsible.
They created both the Beedle Bard puppets and the Transformers M&G outfits. Aiello was out there reviewing progress just a couple of weeks ago.

Excellent - I love the puppets used in Diagon Alley, they did a perfect job capturing the stylistic little idiosyncrasies for that. This should be amazing!

As long as we can't see the legs, this should be great.

Here's a picture from his website, for Universal Studios Japan... there are legs exposed, and even hinges visible... Am I wrong, or does this look like it's part of a parade or show?

^ I hope that whatever we get it looks leagues better than that.

This is from the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh:

(I know the arms and feet are awkward, but look at how much more organic and detailed it is)

The problem is, the Stan Winston suit was only shins up in motion. It didn't account for the the reverse anatomy except for the doorway scene, which didn't allow walking.

I suppose a solution is possible, but if this is going to be an attraction Trike Encounter style the costumes need to be comfortable. Unless they plan for Raptor AA's with the full body suit raptor only coming into play occasionally?

I still don't understand if this is going to utilize the whole Trike plot somehow, or if more expansions are likely and this is just something being fast tracked.

Yeah, I don't believe IOA JP is getting anything like that. And yes, that appears to be a parade.

I have been told that it will be more like this but better (whatever better means).

My question is this: will it be a stationary and all day attraction like Triceratops Encounter, or it will be more akin to a Meet and Greet like above, where it only happens at certain times?

I think certain times... but I haven't been told nor have I asked. It certainly won't be all day.

Interesting. So there is no way this takes up the whole Trike plot.. perhaps just the immediate opening of it?

So, I imagine this is different than the "C+ ticket" project you were hinting a few weeks back? I'm just trying to make sense of all this as there have been so many changes in the rumored expansion plans for JP.

I have no idea but I have asked about it. Just haven't heard back yet.

If I called it a C+ at the time then that was silly of me. If you have watched that whole video, I can see where some might call it the best attraction they saw all day. Especially the 8-12 yo's.

I am here for these meet & greets, which I don't believe I've ever said about any theme park ever. (Maybe Jack & Sally in Disneyland..)
