Wild, they don't really look a thing like the movie.

They have always been fighting over a JP shirt. But there used to be a pair of mouse ears floating in the water near the boat.

Dang it! Now that I see them up next to each other they do look a little more toy-like and less compy-like. There goes the ole childhood... Thanks Jwhee/Teebin, for correcting me. :'(

That's because they're just ported over from Hollywood, which opened well before the movie. I'd rather have the ****ty looking compies than the psittacosaurs, at least the compies are in the film/books.

Oh... so the lil dinos on the ride were never intended to be compies, but psittacosaurs (which I had never heard of before). Yeah, the compies would be better as there is a bit of pesky humor to their appearance.

I think my issue with JP in its current state is that it's anchor attraction is a water ride. Most of the time I am there, I usually skip it because its either to cold or just dont feel like getting wet. JP could use a true E-Ticket, dark ride. It needs something to anchor it like other areas in the park have (i.e. Spiderman, Gringotts, etc). I know space is limited, thats the problem. I just feel there are so many better ways to immerse the guests into JP besides just a basic flume ride with old AA's.

So, I guess they finally were able to get all the skins repaired or replaced? I ask because when it first reopened a few weeks ago people were saying that the skins still looked like hell.

Everything looked great to me! All effects and AAs working and I didn't notice any ugly skins. The nee lighting and sound in the building is fantastic, and the T-Rex has never looked better

I thought the mouse ears are only in the Hollywood version?

The skins themselves looked good post-refurb, it's the minor animation elements (like eye blinks) on the dinos that are still wonky.

I though it was always the JP shirt, but it had a name badge with the name 'Mickey'.....I could be mistaken.

The Animations were wonky, but yes I always thought the ears were USH only.

I could be confused.

Too many mega coasters, too many Grateful Dead shows, the next thing you know your cookie's a little crispy around the edges.

Another difference in the ride would be the soundtrack that is played while going up the lift hill in the facility. The version of the ride in Japan plays the song "Imhotep" from the first Mummy film about 30 seconds into track while going up the hill. Weird right?

By the way that mega Rex from the new JW trailers is insane. If the JW rebrand ever happened, that thing would be the perfect replacement of Tiffany, so awesome

Well, I don't think the I-Rex is meant to replace the T-Rex in the franchise.. they tried that with the Spino and learned their lesson. I agree that it's a freaking cool Dino and should find its way into the park/ride somehow.

Maybe they can do something cool with how it uses its hands like in the .gif above.
