I feel like everything IOA needs at least some refurb. Marvel island should get a hulk themed refurb. Something way more technological and dramatic. Toon lagoon probably needs the most work, especially Do right. JP should get an entire retheme. Potter could expand and there are so many possibilities. And no one really cares about lost continent or seus landing.

1.) Care to elaborate on that one? Are you referring to a refurb more akin to what is more modern in the comics, or more modern in the MCU? Because odd's are; it seems more that if they give MSHI a proper renovation, it'll be more in-line with modern comics from what was done to Hulk in my personal opinion.

2.) I actually think there is an interest to Seuss and LC, more than what in gods name you are referring about. With the Illuminations reboots of The Grinch (and the possibility of the Cat in The Hat being in ample development), it'd be wise to keep that area a close eye in the coming years ahead.

and 3.) Not everything at IOA needs a proper refurbish per-say. Demolishing and new additions to replace them? Perhaps, but that is going off track of what this thread is specifically for; the discussion on a potential expansion of the Jurassic Park IP.

I meant that IOA could be detailed and added on to. It doesn't need a refurb, but there is always something you could do. Not specifically Universal and IOA, but any theme park.

Cuz we mentioned what needed work done on it, and I mentioned that a lot of the things at IOA need work done on them. Jurassic park needs to be rethemed and re constructed. The whole area needs to be re-concepted and re-thought.

"Rethemed and Re-constructed' isn't a refurbishment though, that is what you brought up on the original post as I will correct you in that.

As for if it'd be wise to re theme it to Jurassic World? I am starting to get the feeling more and more, that it may not be impossible that we could see the original Jurassic Park IP removed from Islands, and is relocated to be a major presence at the fourth park in Universal's catalog under the JW likeness.

Then, that would leave the question; what could you do with the space that's there? In theory, that'd be at best, a 14 acre plot to do something completely new; so if they choose to go the way of the Amity Island. And with various IP's that Universal has under it's belt (alongside those that they have externally or potentially able to get), they could do something big for IOA that would rejuvenate the park in more way's like one, almost like how Hogsmeade did that for IOA not too long ago.

I wouldn't want the current JP area to be rethemed for JW. I just want to see an upgrade in JP. The visitors center should be a whole new building with upgraded features. The whole area should be thought out to be more technological and have a much more modern feel.

What exactly are you asking for?

As much as I hate to say it, I think the best thing you will see out of Jurassic Park for a major addition in the new future, is it coming over to the southern property as a dedicated land off of JW and that the original IOA land would be going the way of Amity Island and being demoed.

It is a staple in universal and is a classic. What other classic ride universal ride would be left if they take this one out. I don't think JW is coming to universal.

Jurassic is a staple at Universal, and I do agree. But with modern technology; new land; and new fans coming into the scene with the new trilogy of films from the J series; it'd be wiser to invest more into the newer content as opposed to the original trilogy (as after the first one, the reception gets hazy with Lost World and a lot of people hate JP3).

I get you, but I feel like the new movies barley have anything memorable and authentic like the original. A bunch of rides could be added to the current JP area, and I just feel like JW wouldn't be a good idea for themed attractions. Agree to disagree I guess.

And wouldn't it be wise to just wait to see what the second film has in store?

The only thing JP has going for it was the Mine ride concept and potentially doing something with Mr. DNA back in the past (one is being taken over by an ape and the other is incredibly dated). With Jurassic World, I as of right now see two possible ride types that they could go with; so choosing off of the first of the new films.

1.) A Gyrosphere E-Ticket family dark ride, featuring cutting edge technology to make it feel like you are in a gyroscope. It can be done, as there is a way that would could explain potentially how it'd work in a theme park setting

and

2.) an roller coaster with dark ride elements off of the Raptor Hunt sequence from the film, using the motorcycles as a way to allow the story to unfold

We do not have any other information on what could be in-store for JW2, so it may be wise to hope for the best in the terms of that something can be done. And to a greater extent, there will be at least something that will scream a theme park concept. Could it be something we like or don't like? perhaps, but it'd be wise to wait and see.

Although speaking logistically, it'd make sense to invest in the new films more than what you would do with the original films.

I think IoA, except for LC, is safe due to its IP use. No way they're getting rid of Marvel, JP, Seuss, etc. Popeye is just a great ride that I would be sad to see go but Dudley is very much on the lower side of things.

USF is 27 years old.
IOA is 18 years old.

And IOA does have a few areas of interest:
-New Suess movies could allow for a refurb to Seuss landing
-Dreamworks/Illuminations in Toon Lagoon
-JP
-Lost Continent refurb

I think after Volcano Bay and F&F, and that Nintendo starts construction, IOA could be receiving some walls?

I do distinctly think JPRA has outlived its welcome. That land is way too valuable to be used on a mediocre splashdown raft ride. A full OG JP jeep ride? A Jurassic World gyrosphere ride? Yes, but not the silly river adventure anymore.

Jurassic Park River Adventure is a great ride. The only circumstance in which I would be okay with it being removed would be if its replacement were a similarly large-scale, old school, physical, AA-filled attraction.

And I don't think they look that bad. I'd be happy if Universal went in and spruced them up, though.
