Before the expansion starts, they need to fix the AA's on the River ride. They look horrible. In Downtown Disney, there are better dinos and its in a restaurant. Its sad and a joke.

They also took out the big wooden doors that open in the beginning of the ride.

Yea, they took them out, I was like wtf. The boat just goes threw the columns but the epic music still plays. So now you don't get surprised by the big dino.

The doors get taken out every year. They have to replaced almost annually. Do not fret. The chances of them staying out are slim to none.

^ Guys, keep up... we just discussed the doors last night. They take them out every so often to be refurbished, replace the door mechanics etc.

I'm really hoping we get a major overhaul of the River ride with this expansion. It's seriously a sad mess of a ride, and it has been almost every time I've ridden it. Ever. I understand that certain issues come with running a water-based ride, but this ride can be really cool if it's working properly...

Yeah I know, one time I went in December of 2011 and the head of the brachiasaurus in the beginning was almost upside down and it's mouth was wide open like it was about to break off. Barely any of the Dinos moved that day, which is sad because it is such a great ride.

I don't see how it's a "sad mess". Some of the outdoor animatronics desperately need updating, but it doesn't completely degrade the attraction. In fact, I consider it one of the strongest attractions that Islands of Adventure has. But yes, a refurbishment would still be very welcomed.

Let me rephrase - I LOVED this attraction the first time I rode it. It was one of the most impressive dark rides I'd ever been on, and I was only 12 or 13 at the time. But the more I've ridden it since, the more I've seen things on it that look like crap, and I've been disappointed many times because the duck-dino that kicks the boat has been missing 9 out of ten times I've been since that first ride. It's still a great attraction - but when all of these poorly functioning or not working features add up it makes the ride a bit of a mess in my opinion.

Gotcha. The Hadrosaur has always worked for me, it's the broken looking neck of the first dinosaur that really bothers me... Sigh.

Not only would an upgrade on the AA's be good, but I'd would welcome more dinos. Period.

I recently watched this ride on YouTube the other day, and I feel that they can put more dinos into certain areas. There are few dinos in the beginning, and some areas where it is boring to look at.

Depends on your perspective. Like I said a bit of a change in storyline, some new AA's, little more gorier detailing and boom, guests wont know what hit em!

I do agree in a change of story to it. It's just kind of boring after a few rides. It's a highly themed Tidal Wave. And it's kind of weird that all the carnivores just happen to break out when a dinosaur bumps us into the carnivore area.

I feel like there should be more AA's and maybe a new scene..but other than that i still love the ride.

Fix the neck of the first dinosaur and add a few AAs in to the right side before you get to mini tunnel would do wonders for the ride. However, the T-rex is still one of the best AAs around. Its big and it actually works unlike another big AA around Orlando. Oh and put a cover and some fans over the loading area. It always seems so hot waiting to start the ride. Even with all that, its still one of the best rides in Orlando.

The ride does the trick for its height requirement and its a pretty decent 'family' ride. I'll actually vote on maintaining the status quo on this one. Adding more gore to the ride is not going to happen. Just keep the AAs working and MAYBE adjust the lighting and sounds a bit inside. A raptor chase sound effect is welcomed.
