Before spending money on new attractions they should really get what they have there working fully. The start of river adventure without the gates opening is really poor show as you can see the first dino total static ruining the effect. Also the gates opening to the voice over “welcome to Jurassic park” gave the ride a grand feel now it just feels cheap. The whole ride looked a little rundown and please for the love of god get potter to wave his wand and do something to at least try and hide that hideous white box that looms over the entire land……………..

The gates are being refurbed. They will be back soon. And I suspect that the Potter Show building will be addressed right after "Loomin' over Canada"s showbuilding:

What has Canada at EPOCT got to do with JP?

Just because it happens at Disney doesn't mean it should get a free pass everywhere else. Universal will never get to the top if they keep justifying their slips by comparing to Disney...they should set the standard.

Not to mention that it's at least shaped and sky blue, not perfect but they tried a little. And Epcot isn't trying to sell you Canada, it's trying to sell you a world's fair that's more educational and fun than immersive (I mean, the Eiffel Tower would be visible if you took a few steps back). Harry Potter is trying to sell you Hogsmeade, not a recreation of it. The showbuilding is a bit more offensive in that sense.

Painting it sky blue reminds me of the pyramids in Despicable Me, or the helicopter crash from the Simpsons. Have they learned nothing?!? LOL

Hi. I wonder if a day will go by without someone on this forum bringing up FJ show building.
Its not going to get covered, and it was the only place they could put it.
If you have a problem with seeing it, I suggest going to Scotland and seeing a real medieval castle.
Otherwise, accept that seeing the show building is the trade off for the amazing ride inside.
Can we move on?

If I was UniCreative, after all the brouhaha over the show building, I would theme it. Transformerer-ize it! Great big Jurassic Park logos, fake conduit, "Secret Cloning Laboratory" signage.

And a 20' tall privacy fence around the greenhouse.

All I can say is this is a bit of a lame response and the sort of post that kills all debate!!!! Let’s try implementing this across all the topics shall we here’s an example, The Yeti on EE doesn’t move like it did but its still an amazing ride. Can we move on?

Not wanting to start a debate about Disney be it EE or EPCOT just saying that in my opinion there are things to address in JP before spending money on new rides

False.
Your example is of a main ride feature that once worked and no longer does. This is about park infrastructure and priorities.
How much would rock work cost on a building of that size? And what would the return on investment be?
What debate is there really? The show building bothers some and doesn't bother others. And I propose that a vast majority of the people it bothers are the people on this board.
There are show buildings EVERYWHERE, why is this the one brought up over and over and over? Is it really "ruining" anything for you?

Wasnt about the example there are loads of others I could have used was more about the comment "Can we move on?" Like I said dont want to get into a Disney v Universal debate beacuse this isnt the place but there are many examples where Disney has been slated for doing just that, spending lots of money on rock work to such a point that members on this forum have had a go at them for wasting money and not building rides instead!!!!

Anyway sorry for taking this off topic I will go back to lurking now as it feels any negativity towards Uni gets this sort of reaction :bang:

So why criticize his response for killing debate, and then turn around and run when he replies?

I am so glad! They need to bring more things to do. The crowds are not dying down, and it seems there's not enough to do for the insane amount of people that are coming to UOR. I know right now we are in a super peak time, but seeing the pictures on Twitter from today, it's CRAY! :yikes:

And I will be going on Saturday... :look: Just the thought of it... :died:

honestly, I think this could do wonders for it...make it look like a JP warehouse from the JP side and paint it brown on the HP side! That would easily make it much more passable in my opinion, just because (call me crazy) I like pretending I'm not in Orlando when I'm in a world class theme park.

The problem is all they'd have to do is plant some trees or even just paint it. It's obnoxious as it is now. It doesn't 'ruin' anything it's just kinda ugly and makes JP look cluttered and when you can see it from WWOHP it contrasts the great effort they put into making Hogwarts. It would be so easy to cover it up. I mean, with an attitude like yours, why would they bother building Hogwarts at all? Why not just put it in a warehouse and make it look like that from the get go?

As for the JP expansion, the rumors are all interesting but I'd be surprised if it was any more than a few touch-ups on existing attractions, especially considering how much all the rumors have changed already.

This is great news. =D

It also doesn't surprise me, Universal is pushing pretty hard internally to make JP4 a big movie/franchise again.

I'm sorry you feel this way and I don't want to keep from posting, but I would have said the same thing if you brought up Soarin' or GMR or RRC or any of the others.
Show buildings are a necessary evil of theme parks. They house the attractions we all love. If my post was a "debate killer" I guess its because I just feel this particular issue has run its course.
Many times over.

I hope we can hear more about how the expansion growing.

I'm not knocking on anybody but I feel like I need to say this. I understand we should expect the best from Universal but continuing to find the only few bad things in the park and keep bringing up over and over again is quite exhausting. I mean how much stuff is going on right now at Universal Orlando? It's almost ridiculous how much construction is being built for new attractions that are coming to this park in the near future. So maybe they're concentrating on getting new attractions for all of us completed first and foremost, rather then wasting their time on the Harry Potter show building that nobody except us on forums even notice. I do understand it is indeed sometimes the little things that make a theme park excellent, but with what is coming to Universal Orlando within the next 2 to 3 years, why are we stressing ourselves out over the littlest of things right now at this point? Again, I'm not trying to argue or knock anybody's opinion but where is the joy in continuing to worry over these things when the future for Universal Orlando is exciting and bright?! Now I hope nobody takes this personally I just wanted to explain how I truly feel over some issues. By the way, in the end I do respect everyone's opinion. I'm just speaking my mind like everyone else.
