Wooden Warrior is considered a top 20 wooden coaster.

Yea, let's all complain about getting something like that mixed with theming. What an awful idea.

It's so much unneeded fretting for what seems to be amounting to what the original rumor always was. Themed family coaster, smaller enhancements, some new food.

Can we all take a deep breath now?

This is EXACTLY from HTF's original article in January...

Amber Mine Rollercoaster – This small-scale family coaster is said to be a themed run-away mine cart ride through detailed Amber Mines. The targeted height minimum is between 36 and 40 inches; so it will be a ride that most families can enjoy together. And while GCI Coasters met with Universal Creative earlier last year, we are told now that the Gravity Group has been contacted to build this attraction.

So what has changed in almost a year? Nothing besides the start date, because we won't be seeing this next summer.

It just hurts knowing Kong is basically killing any chance of a larger JP expansion, and JP will feel a lot less like the park of the film after these changes. I was hoping for something cutting edge and inspiring like the river adventure, I would have killed for a new experience bringing the Dinosaurs to life.

3. The reason money has been pulled from the Project that Disneyhead and I were tipped off about early this year is because of Kong. The RFP's for Kong have come back very high and the suits are willing to cut elsewhere in order to make Kong happen. They see Kong as a driver for IOA due too the impact it had at Hollywood.

This is the speculation at the moment, hopefully it calms a few peoples nerves.

Question: What does RFP mean?

A themed family coaster seems a good addition to me, especially if it means more funding is going into Kong.

In my world, it's a "request for proposal"

And the sooner they fill up the thunder falls plot, the better. That hyper coaster nonsense should be locked away in the Disney Vault with Song of the South

I just don't get how Kong got priority over JP.. Universal has said JP is their largest franchise, and they are planning to reboot it back to relevance with Jurassic World. How does it make sense to scale back..? =(

I think I understand Universal's decision to cut back on Jurassic Park in favour of King Kong (even though I, personally, love Jurassic Park as an I.P and don't care so much about Kong).
A new, mini Kong land will drive up guest spending more, because it is an I.P not currently at the park. And as everyone keeps saying, Comcast is all about guest spending.

I suppose, but I still feel they should have found a way to bring this idea to life without hurting JP expansion potential. Seems short sighted with Jurassic World on the horizon.

Let's hope the folks at UC have all been down the road to visit Dinorama at AK. God forbid they make that mistake with this 'family friendly mini-land' they're building.

Whatever they build, it needs to be themed well. No matter its family-friendliness, or capacity, or coast, or footprint, it will really only be truly disappointing if it is themed poorly.

Some of you are acting as if a jurassic park expansion was confirmed to be coming. Hate to break it to you but it never was. Survey markers dont mean a thing until walls go up and mark woodbury himself tells us its happening. Maybe the plan all along was to put kong in and enhance jp. Maybe it wasnt. Who cares? The sky is not falling, its just a theme park. Chill your horses and speculate on RUMORS and not what you think is fact.

Yes. Both Universal Parks definitely need some sort of smaller rides to improve the rides count.

Purely sarcastic  I meant to quote JS but apparently it did not do what I wanted it. Simply reminding people we could be doing what Disney is doing.

1. Nothing is truly known by anyone at the moment outside of a timeline for this rush project. It has been rushed and scaled back because the suits worry the crowds will be cannibalized at IOA due to Diagon as well as the numerous offerings at the Studios like Transformers next Summer.

2. Whatever happens in terms of a JP Expansion it will be family focused and involve a D ticket, possibly a flat, and new food / merch options

A flat? I hope that means Camp Jurassic :P only a kiddie coaster could allow a flat to fit into the Triceratops plot... and would anything be done to JPRA and Flyers?

More importantly... is Kong going to increase back to its original scale?
