Well I rode JRPA three times today. Definitely had to give it a good farewell but my last time was extra special.

I waited til sun down, hopped in a boat by myself, and had the time of my life! Definitely the best ride I've had on there and I got SOAKED. Seeing as to how my Bday is tomorrow I splurged and bought the picture, and a shirt!

Definitely a great way to spend the day/birthday and a great last trip for a few years.

A friend told me some construction perimeter fences were started to be staged near JP. Not sure if it's true. Can anyone confirm?

Awesome, but this seems bittersweet. I would rather the budget and size go for a more featured and themed ride (which can still be aimed for younger audiences) than the rumored coaster as a coaster, and a flat.

As in fences in the Trike encounter spot or the behind thunder falls spot?

If they leave room for that Mr. DNA dark ride (a 3-minute retro Epcot-esque Omnimover inside Discovery Center) and turn Pteranodon Flyers into an all-ages ride (maybe pterodactyl-themed cable cars? Fully enclosed with the windows shut - that should make it accessible for everyone if they expand the track and add a cave scene)... along with a massive JPRA upgrade, I might be okay with Kong taking Thunder Falls (the ride concept sounds amazing for the 8th wonder )

Just a quick note. There's nothing about Pteranodon that requires it be a "kids ride" other than it's extremely limited capacity. That's only a result of the track being downsized from the entire land/expansion plots. Plus, it's really short. It's not at all entertaining except maybe for being able to brag that you've managed to find a kid (or excuse) to ride it.

That's the problem Comcast needs to fix - that you have to bring a kid in order to ride. Expanding the track and adding a ride-through cave as part of a Camp Jurassic expansion would be perfect. Also, changing the ride vehicles to enclosed cable cars themed to JP would expand capacity by a large margin.

This and the Seuss Trolley should both have no height requirement IMO... and it would provide two more rides everyone can do.

I imagined the dark ride could be something like the 'Carousel of Progress' mixed with 'Stitch's Great Escape', but yeah if Pteranodon Flyers gets a big revamp and made for all ages and the River Adventure also gets some new things added I would be fairly happy. But the fact that we lost the amber mine coaster for something way less themed is less than promising.

Wait and see. Who knows…this may be the greatest ride ever coming to JP and 18 months from now we could all be looking back and laughing, saying "remember how we were all so worried about the 'scaled-back' JP-expansion?" It's far too soon to jump to conclusions. Let's just hope that Universal/Comcast knows what they're doing and they're not going to cut any (major) corners and will deliver killer attractions in the process!

I hope you're right, but it sounds like JP may be used as filler to check off some younger audience criteria, rather than a driving force to visit the park. I'm fine with it being aimed at younger audiences, but I still hope it is something special.

This expansion is NOT meant to be a driving force to visit the park.....That's Harry's job...Y'all are far to worried...over nothing. We've seen what they can do...we have an idea of what they're going to do...so...please.....stop worrying.

But see, thats what bums me out. Don't get me wrong, JP will never have the draw as HP even if JW is a runaway hit. That said, a JP expansion could still be something special and a reason to want to visit rather than something meant to supplement other parts of the park. Ultimately, I wish Jurassic Park were getting something special, akin to Kong or the rumored mine coaster as opposed to the filler that is apparently hitting instead.

Okay...here's the thing...we have NO IDEA if the new coaster will be any more/less themed than the mine coaster. The Trike plot is not large. The ride was NEVER going to be Big Thunder Mountain. It was always going to be a small, themed attraction. And from all reports, that's what we're still getting.

Honestly. All theis :skyfall: for nothing.
