One idea: Put Jurassic World in the third park and put Pokemon in JP's current spot.

JP and Kong work so well together, I doubt that would ever happen. I'd rather see Pokemon in the Third Park. And Pokemon would be too stark of a transition from Hogsmeade

There is a wall up at the back end of Camp Jurassic stroller parking. Can't tell what is going behind it.

I thought this may be of interest:

Universal Creative (though possibly only the Hollywood branch) traveled to Melbourne Australia late last year to visit the Creature Technology Company and view their work for Jurassic World the Exhibition. They were very pleased and excited by what they saw - but I'm not sure what this means now, or in the long run..

Perhaps updated Raptor Encounter suits, new AA's, or simply using them to retheme the dino skins with film accuracy?

Anyone here anything new about this?

I normally don't post on the weekends (unless on-site) but I just caught Jurassic World for the umpteenth time and I cannot fathom this not coming to the third gate (even if it means closing JP in IOA). The movie is a literal theme park for dinosaurs.. I bet they modeled the park in the movie off actual theme parks. I hope they make JW happen.. so many rides.. so many possibilities

They're apparently making an amazing ride for Beijing and you know how Uni loves to clone things. I still think we can have both JP and JW though, even if JW is only a mini land unlike JP.

If they want to be really clever about it, they could have the Uni north-to-south resort transportation monorail be modeled after the one in JW. Have video screens on the windows like Hogwarts Express when traveling down Universal Blvd, then have the windows open up to show off an elevated view of the third park before it pulls into the station.

But how would the baby Triceratops move like in the movie???

My hunch is, if they did do something like a petting zoo, it would be done in a way where a handler brings out an animal, one at a time, and people wait in line to touch it and get their picture taken (like Raptor Encounter).

Times and what dinos for each time could be listed on a board, same way SeaWorld does meet the handler times. This way people could be guaranteed a chance to see the baby Triceratops they already have. (Rather than catching it by chance roaming the park.)

They could either add more dinos or just start with the Trike for now. Hopefully the little area would be themed well-enough to give a feeling that more animals are living back there too. Sound effects and a closed stable with mulch on the ground would be good enough to create the right atmosphere (and cheap enough to pull off without breaking the bank).

As cool as a ride-able dino for little kids would be, just like in the film, I would guess that's not a direction a project like this would go in. Too expensive with way too small a throughput.

I'm all in favor of a JURASSIC WORLD section in a hypothetical third park, but not at the expense of the JP land we've already got. I don't trust Universal to build another large-AA-intensive, fully physical experience on par with the River Adventure, so I would hate to see that attraction get the axe. If, however, it could remain safe, I'm perfectly fine with Universal building new JW attractions in the fashion of most of their recent mega-rides.

Well as far as I know one of the biggest supporters of Beijing's JW ride based on what he's heard is WDW1974 and he's not a big fan of Uni's "screenz." When it comes to JPRA I want every single AA currently in the ride removed and replaced with better ones made by CTC. Imagine the T-Rex no longer just standing there and instead visibly walking forward like the one they've made. When it comes to the little Dinosaurs they have that covered as well.
Video Gallery - Creature Technology Company

If this happened, JPRA would probably become my favorite ride in the whole resort. Some of those AAs are really lackluster.

I just thought of something when looking at CTC's work, more specifically the traveling "Walking with Dinosaurs" show. In the show, the larger dinosaurs have these camouflaged bases which move the dinosaurs around (pictured below).

I feel like we have the technology now to make these camp-bases not necessary, especially in a controlled environment like an attraction. You could have these huge dinosaurs walking around freely without the bases, where they use the same technology that Kong's RVs use to recharge the battery. The dinosaur would always have 2 feet on the ground, so those are two charging pads that will always be touching the charging floor.

I haven't heard anything at all about Beijing's JW ride, but if WDW1974 is supposedly impressed with it (and he's a guy who strikes me as having an absolutely miserable, sour attitude about most things, not just screenz), then that's probably a good thing.

I agree about the AAs on River Adventure needing work or replacements, though.

It had been years since I rode Jurassic Park, but man....this past week I thought the dinosaurs (not the ones inside the building) looked really bad. It was the skins specifically, the colors did not look realistic. Purple and Red and Yellow? I don't remember them being those colors before, but maybe I'm remembering wrong? (That being said its still one of my favorite rides in the park).

I would love to do that, but the park is only open in the night during peak attendance periods. :)... We go in May & October. If we're lucky enough to get a day or two with a half hour of darkness, we do a victory dance. :whoo:...That is Universal's major shortcoming. They close a park that translates so beautifully into evening glory, before the sun sets, for the vast majority of the year. I hope more on site hotels & Volcano Bay changes that senseless mind set.
