Enough to be recognizable.

Plus, Thor has probably the BIGGEST difference design-wise from MCU to MSHI, pretty much everyone else looks either the same or even MORE recognizable than the MCU designs.

It doesn't matter, people are going to notice a difference. Guests are going to expect Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson and everybody else, not a comic. Sure, the comic aesthetic makes more sense for the land as it's timeless and will cost a fraction of the price.

Maybe doing nothing is better than doing anything that will never meet the high standards that guests will be expecting from a modern Marvel attraction.

The only ride I would give a pass to is Iron Man but seeing as that concept is in development hell, I can't see that happening any time soon especially with everything else that is planned or rumoured for the next 5 years.

Sounded like they really wanted to put in an Iron Legion attraction, but they coudn't get the tech to work. So that probably knocked it way down the list.

This is what happens when you don't hire Stark Industries to do the work.:)

I disagree. Guests are going to expect Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow and everybody else, not their actors. Does disney have Tom Holland working routinely in the parks? Benedict Cumberbatch?

These characters are portrayed by actors...

Mission Breakout features the cast and was filmed during Guardians 2 and the Guardians coaster will no doubt follow the same direction.

If you’re talking about meet and greets then it’s a moot point.

Yes but they're not portrayed by their film actors in any parks, so why does it matter?

The Spider-man ride is all CG but you can still tell that it's Spider-Man.

How so?

Again, it sounds like you’re talking about meet and greets here, not a ride which was your original point. The Marvel rides within Disney are created using the MCU actors.

Would any of Harry Potter be the same if they brought in different actors or used the drawings? No because the public expects the same world as the movies.

If they were able to make a Marvel ride and included sound-alikes akin to Hermoine, I'm sure the GP would barely notice nor care. Nobody seems to care about how the actress doesn't look or sound like her on the Potter rides and people don't seem to care if Harrison Ford isn't featured in the Indiana Jones ride. The GP doesn't care that Spidey in the ride isn't depicted by Tom Holland or Andrew Garfield. Why? Because they're good rides. That's all they care about, and that's ultimately what matters, right? Just get some sound alikes, don't show their faces, or at least hire look alikes, and you're set.

I'm talking M&Gs and/or rides.

There is a huge differences between bringing HP and Marvel. There is only one visual adaptation of HP, so that's what guests expect when they ride the "Harry Potter ride." Marvel has been doing things in TV and film for decades. The new films build the hype up, but guests eat up anything Marvel because it has been used in so many different ways over the years: cartoons, films, comics, etc.

As for your point about Disney using the MCU actors for rides, Universal can just CG any human characters, it's not like MCU designs are radically different than the comics/cartoons.

Nah that's nuts. Spider-Man doesn't star Tom Holland and everyone loves that ride.

They could always make the characters look similar to the MCU like how they changed Doc Oc to look like how he does in Spider-Man 2 but not exactly.

Like I don’t think IW is or was going to build theme park attendance. Marvel isn’t any bigger of an IP now than it was two years ago due to IW IMO.

Infinity War has grossed more during opening weekend than the Force Awakens has on its opening. Heck, Black Panther and Infinity War are probably going to make more money than Last Jedi and Force Awakens combined, if it hasn't already (Too lazy to look up Box Office Mojo).

So what's my point? Marvel is bigger than Star Wars in pop culture. Yeah, they can't use MCU material, but like I mentioned earlier, they can easily work around it. I realize they have a lot on their plate now, but I think they're missing out on some major Potter-level prospects here by not pursuing any Marvel rides.

Honestly they should really just expand the land and add Wakanda (Black Panther) and Atlantis (Namor who is black panther's rival) with the usage of the film theming in exchanging for letting Marvel actually use Namor in films (Universal seems to have full rights over the character unlike Hulk).

I want to see what Universal does with a underwater world and Atlantis would make sense to be indoors so people would stop complaining about IOA having all outdoor attractions.

¥ou're right technically.

However, it's a Marvel-based land in a major theme park in Orlando. People don't know the land is based on the comics and not MCU until they step foot in the land. The point is that the hype is at an all time high between Black Panther and Infinity War and yet Universal still has pretty much the same land they had after they opened Storm Force. They're missing their chance at exploiting a golden age of comic book movies/fans.

At least the kids still have plenty of animated Marvel series. They are familiar with the cartoon look.

Same goes for Disney who owns Marvel but at least they have announced plans.
