Not gonna happen. Why bring back beat to shreds attractions when you can create new quality offerings?

Turtles: Yes.

Michael Bay Turtles: No.

His movie has been put on "hold" because it was going to be terrible.

The new Turtles show on Nick has been a big hit, and is quite good (probably the best Turtles cartoon I've seen). I wouldn't mind it being part of the new KidZone if it continues its popularity.

Well, they already pay for spongebob and dora/diego... why not turtles and do a show too... Maybe we got transformers wrong and it's really TMNT The Ride: 3D *hides*

After SS44 demolition I had a feeling Shrek would soon follow. As for T2 I'm surprised ... yes it does need some refurbishment though.

my wish list for the replacement of shrek.

1. not a kids ride
2. not 3D or screen based
3. production/behind the scenes oriented (it IS in a "sound stage" in "production central")
4. Hitchcock (i know not gonna happen but we are getting a Hitchcock movie!)

I would rather see Shrek stay a screen type show and T2 become a ride. Spread the crowds a little more. That side of the park is often dead.

In the case of Shrek, I actually wouldn't mind seeing the entire SS destroyed and open up the entrance plaza. Take out Shrek, Monsters Cafe, and Lucy and build some new retail stores along with new food options. Then tie that project into tearing down the current Universal store, current turnstiles, bakery, restrooms, employee facilities, and all of the ticket booths and customer relation buildings.

So in a perfect world in my mind you get an amazing new entrance that sets the tone for your day. To include,

1.New Entry Plaza with all new ticket booths and customer relation buildings
2.Brand New Universal Store (Two Story themed Mega Store)
3.Dreamworks Specialty Store (think Disney Stores)
4.Photo Store
5.Universal Theater (Universal Media Store in a theater setting with tons of movie memorabilia)
6.Art, jewelry, and knick knack store
7.Haunted Universal Monster Store
8.Bakery and coffee house
9.Ice Cream Parlor
10.Quickservice food option
11.Sitdown Restaurant
12.Multiple themed meet and greets with large Meet and Greet themed plaza
13.Annual Passholder lounge
14.Bar
15.Universal Vacation Club

The entire plaza would be themed around Hollywood which could easily transition to Hollywood that's already their. Large open air spaces with very detailed facades for all shops wrap the perimeter creating 360 degrees of immersive theming. Think the offspring of Universal Singapore and Main Street USA in a sense.

I would die. As much as I love the studios, I hate the look of the front of the park. It gives such a sour note, especially when you compare it to areas like New York and Hollywood, which have beautifully designed facades.

Personally, I don't think Shrek needs to be knocked down in order to make an enhanced entrance area. It's already too far back by Despicable Me to make much sense for an exit area.

Knock down the Uni store and the bakery, as well as the Lucy area, and do something with those places.

Let the Shrek building become another attraction.

Without the bar and leaving the bakery that's there now, I'm down for it.

I believe this calls for some amazing concept art from violarum so that we can drool even more at the very idea of this.

If they did a Dreamworks store they should do it similar to what Dreamworld (an Australian park) did with their kids area store when they rethemed the whole area from nick. Also the rest of the area would be great to be a retheme for Universals kids area. Although on Universal's level of theming.

For those interested here are some pictures from when it opened in April. Although one area is still not finished as well as the food court. http://www.parkz.com.au/update/2012/04/03/294-April_2012.html

I saw that the meet Donkey encounter is being moved to the Shrek building sometime soon. Wiht the major influence of Spielberg at the parks, as well as the huge Shrek presence throughout the Universal lexicon, I think he's here to stay for some time. As far as T2-3D, some of the ideas in the promo are a bit too close to current reality, so it may be on it's way out!

A tribute to the monsters of universal would be good. They own the rights .The theater is already built,it sucks people thru like there is a fire sale.
you get a cheap scare when the seats drop, rain drops for raining scene.leg ticklers would be another good scare.

I would actually agree about the plaza needing an upgrade. USF could use the entry upgrade like California Adventure saw. The entrance has become so frumpy and just so old looking. Especially with so many new Rides opening up in the next couple of years, it'd be nice to see a redesigned entrance.
