I am hearing rumblings that there will be no windshield or 3D. That 3D will not be required. Interesting hmm?

Makes me think this ride will be the next Spiderman or Forbidden Journey in terms of innovative ride systems ;)

That will be nice for a break from 3D at the Studio. So this essentially means new groundbreaking tech for the attraction. Mario may even have the Star Wars people mumbling about it's innovation and entertainment value. Nintendo may well be a worthy foe for Star Wars. It will be interesting to see if Universal creative can equal or best the jewel that is Diagon. Stay tuned for more Teebin musings. Same bat time, same bat channel.

:topic: I know I helped get us off track...but let's circle back to Nintendo.

What does everyone want to see? Let's say you get 4-5 rides to build. Realistically (aka no FOUR E-TICKETS!) what would you like to see them do with the space?

Mine:
-Mario Kart trackless, interactive E-ticket
-Donkey Kong family mine train coaster
-2 flat rides
-Something Zelda...dunno how to do it, but I want it.

I would like to see a ride interact with a ride or restaurant. Sort of like Tomooroland Monorail does going through Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Etc.

As much as its fun that theres another Direct coming soon, its best not to expect any theme park news. Especially considering that universal would of teased to watch the Direct to get first hand-info of the new lands.

Yeah. Not expecting any news tomorrow, but I think Universal would be wise to consider using a Direct to communicate at least some theme park news to Nintendo fans. Like, a popular gaming forum I frequent has over 3000 replies to the Direct thread that went up just yesterday. Directs, and the days leading up to them are like concentrated hype to hardcore fans. No better way to reach the fanbase.

That'd be new information to me, but super interesting. I can't see how Mario Kart could be done without a little 3-D here or there, but very interesting none the less.

I'm hoping that it's a harrier jet compared to their Wright Brothers glider. Spider-Man and FJ are incredible, but the level of interactivity that could be on display is staggering.

Attraction-wise, I think Nintendo will wipe the floor with Diagon. I'm not sure the atmosphere and outdoor theming can necessarily keep up, as creating cartoon-y visuals from 4-5 different properties just can't live up to the unified vision of Diagon. But I think it will easily be a top 5 land in the world.

Also, anecdotally, I saw the power of Nintendo land yesterday. A friend's girlfriend posted on his wall about it. Neither of them, or this entire group of my friends, are "in the know" about theme parks. I gave them some higher level info, and the entire group of about 15 all said they're 100% going when it opens.

I think Nintendo, like Potter and Star Wars, will be mega successful because it draws in a crowd that normally would not really care much about theme parks.

I'm thinking Mario Kart will end up being what most posters were hoping that Fast & Furious would be. Mario Kart as a new tech interactive trackless speed racing event that will leave Test Track in it's dust would appeal to those that aren't satisfied with the more family oriented Fast & Furious ride system/attraction we will be seeing.

Personally, I don't see Mario Kart being "fast". I think it's going to be the "Disney killer" family attraction so many have been whinging about around here.

To be clear, I was being facetious with that. Nintendo will in no way, shape, or form "kill Disney".

I just need to say that before the "STOP BEING MEAN TO DISNEY" crowd jumps all over me.

I dunno, when I go on POTC I prefer wearing 3D glasses. Really enhances it for me. Makes me feel like I'm really there. :saywhat:
