Alex, I wasn't guessing or passing an idle rumor. I was telling captainmoch a definite. And I used the word "few" carefully. Last I heard, a few can be as little as three but in this case, I think 4-5 is more likely.

Well, they won't be getting anything big beyond Kong for a few years... so there you have it.

So if it's Nintendo (Studios) for 2018. What's for 2019 & 2020 &2021 for the resort? They'll certainly need something to go up against Star Wars and whatever other expansions Disney will have. One possibility is Ministry of Magic, but that still leaves a gap for the other year or two. I would doubt Universal would have a year with nothing new, considering Disney will have a lot on their plate plus their big anniversary coming.

It appears the park has survived a quiet 2015, right? From what I can tell, there is another quiet year coming up and Universal will survive that very very nicely. The coming construction will be yet another show in itself.

2016- Kong & Hulk
2017- Fallon & F&F (& Possible flat ride?)
2018- Nintendo
2019- ?? Maybe Avengers or a ride refurbishment?
2020+?

I want to eventually see some major IP's like Star Trek. I feel they will eventually run out of popular current day IP's and that they should resort back to some of their classic & timeless IP's such as BTTF, Jurassic World, Jaws & other movies that still have massive fan bases.

I definitely think they'll bring back a BTTF ride eventually since they've now brought Kong back.

Out of BTTF and Jaws, I think BTTF has way more of a chance at returning.

With that being said, this year was the year to build something BTTF

Hollywood Studios has half the capacity of THE Studios and according to TEA 124 times the attendance. Lol

In all seriousness though I personally am concerned about USF in 2016. Let's hope the major rides have a great year and need little downtime..

It's not gonna be the optimal situation...but well worth it in the end.

Well, but everything makes more internationally now. The last two films still made 230 and 350 mil domestically.

And Avatar mad over $700M domestically and yet anytime anyone even mentions box office in association to that project, people always say "box office doesn't matter".

So which one is it?

Universal flubbed BTTF day terribly, could've been great.

The parks also had more room to grow back then though because attendance was lower.

Not that they flubbed it, there's just nothing really for them to do.

Box office from a single film franchise isn't nearly as strong an indicator as the box office on film 6 & 7 of a franchise.

^^^ This. My issue with Avatar is that is was released in 2009. Sure 700 mil from one movie is great, but adding a theme park expansion 8, yes 8 years after the movie is released is silly. The 2nd movie will be released AFTER the expansion opens. So in most people's minds, who cares about this expansion. It is a movie they watched 8 years ago and probably barely remember. So who knows how well the 2nd movie will do since there was 8 years between the first movie and the second movie. The 2nd movie numbers could be MUCH lower if people totally have forgotten about the IP.

:topic: I know I helped get us off track...but let's circle back to Nintendo.

What does everyone want to see? Let's say you get 4-5 rides to build. Realistically (aka no FOUR E-TICKETS!) what would you like to see them do with the space?

Mine:
-Mario Kart trackless, interactive E-ticket
-Donkey Kong family mine train coaster
-2 flat rides
-Something Zelda...dunno how to do it, but I want it.

I think Pokémon will be sadly out of the equation, but I would love a Pokémon interactive game throughout the land and maybe even the 2 parks.
