How much more could they have to do before they can?

They are still ironing out the glitches and details inside of the building, many of which remain. They have yet to "bring the full orchestra" together, so to speak.

(ooh, that was a good one teebin)

I don't think it has anything to do with needing to design more and everything to do with them needing to keep things open for now.

Which is what I said a long time ago. I didn't think they could lose that capacity so soon.

I don't think movie studio parks low capacity should be a thing although it's trying to be popular.

I doubt May happens, but it'd be nice.

And I don't think KidZone will close until after this year, but who knows.

I agree. I see KidZone closing either after the 2016-17 holiday busy season or when the first 2017 attraction opens just due to capacity issues.

It's crazy how "done" this is and yet we're still a good 4-5 months out from opening

Personally asking, could it be possible that we see the area surrounding Kong open by Spring break, but border the ride entrance, exit, and extended line themed to a explorer camp?

Just guessing, but I could see that happen; as It could make sense.

Last I heard Fallon is an early 2017 opening, so closing KidZone after New Years would make sense

From what I can see that is not gonna happen but what do I know? Just an observer.

I have no idea how fallon can be an early 2017 with the state it's at right now. Gonna be really interesting construction wise. Nice to see it's a mold, worries are gone now lol

I don't know...with the speed that Universal likes to work at and about a year to complete it, I think they can do it.

Exactly. I think that many of you forget that the components of the Fallon attraction are being built right now or will be built soon, long before this thing opens. I have to admit, I sometimes forget this... but it is true.

I'm pretty sure almost every new Orlando attraction ever aimed for early May softs.

Sign was being spray-painted at Islands closing tonight (no over-the-fence shots used)

Hoping for soft openings late May. I will be in Orlando from May 20th till June 3rd, and this would be a major reason for me to visit Universal then.

Had a very quick mess around with the stencil out front. I assume the rock it's on still has to be painted. but this might give a rough idea of how it could look.

What's being put on the rock and the concept are two different things? I personally like the concept poster/title more.

Remember the miniature model entrance we spotted last June? Although the logo has changed since then, it appears they intend to use the stencil to sculpt a 3D rock work logo. In the model they have the logo using the same paint scheme as the rock work, this would explain why they are waiting to paint the whole thing until the logo is done.
