J.J has contributed to the sequel trilogy already, with The Force Awakens, and that this will be Terrio's first writing credit for the series. The film will release in 2019.

I had my fingers crossed that Rian Johnson would come back. Or we'd get really lucky and maybe they'd snag Spielberg.

Not sure how I feel about Abrams coming back as the replacement.

It's a fine, if not boring, choice

That's the word I was looking for, it's a boring choice but I guess they wanted to play it safe.

The film has now been pushed back to (you guessed it) December 2019.

Hmmmmm...... wonder if Iger's retirement and the opening of the lands might follow suit/tail waging the dog some here.

There was no way that was not going to happen. The director thing is just a convenient excuse.

And now where will Wonder Woman 2 move to?

I would think they would put Wonder Woman for November now at this point, and to have a date similar of Justice League.

Possibly. Will probably wait till Justice league comes out and see how it does. If it does poorly, they may shift to Summer.

Star Wars: Episode IX Cast Announced | StarWars.com

Mark Hamil will return, alongside Billy Dee Williams. It also has no mention of Keri Russel but that Naomi Ackie and Richard E. Grant will join the cast.

And..in a big piece of info, Carrie Fisher's character will live on; as they will use unreleased footage from VII to bring her back.

I have no issue because otherwise her character has a clunky end...

But isn’t this the exact thing Disney said they wouldn’t do back after TLJ came out?

I’m not too enthused about this as with Abrams at the helm again, I’m sure it’s going to feel like a re-treading of Episode VI. Guess that’s their only option when they piss off a horde of fans.

No I think what they said was that they were not going to do that weird facial reconstruction thing that they did with Tarkin in Rogue One. I could be wrong though.

I think you are putting too much credit into the fans.

A little note, looks like Finn got a cosmetic overhaul.
