It definitely uses a lot of buzz words, but things sound radically different as well.

I really hope so. Making Test Track into a pavilion would do wonders for that side of Epcot. And I really, really hope the ride itself gets a new look. A TRON-like interior could be something mind-blowing.

I really don't know what to make of what they're planning. It sounds awesome. But I have no clue how it will work. I am definitely more excited now though. I think the fact that they realize it's a pavilion and not just an attraction is encouraging.

Looks like pre and post-show are definitely getting make-overs, but they wouldn't close the ride for six months just for that. There's obviously going to be some changes in the overall experience.

Guests will be able to create their own custom concept vehicles. The adventure will then shift into high gear as Guests buckle into their 6-person “SimCar” ride vehicle and put their design through its paces on the exhilarating hills, switchbacks and straight-aways of the Test Track circuit.

:inquisitive: Wait, so we are designing the cars we are riding? I'm not completely buying that...

The wording is vague. I can't tell if it's describing designing a car that you could buy from GM and drive around or a ride experience custom made like that coaster simulator where you design the track and speeds. Or if I'm totally wrong....?

 It's leading me to believe that, and it just doesn't make sense, or they're overselling it. Idk, it just doesn't make sense...

Correct, it will give you plenty of time to rip out an aging ride system and replace it with all new hardware thats more reliable and less expensive to maintain. As far as the actual ride goes in terms of thematic upgrades don't get your hopes up guys.

The way I read it was that guests will be able to design the look of the car (colors, decals, rims, maybe some tech things, etc.) and then ride a test vehicle to get physical statistics. Then, after it's over, they'll kind of combine the two aspects with a cool little video showing an awesome-looking car with some realistic stats. This would be similar to the new Spaceship Earth, where they take you picture (appearance) then ask you the questions (statistics) and you end up with a neat clip to email to yourself.

so, lemmie get this strait... it's a next-gen interactive queue experience to design your own car while you wait, new shell for the RVs, and updated post show to integrate the two with what sounds like the same ride experience?

Damnit. Haven't been to Epcot in years, and when I finally get back one of the marquee attractions will be closed.

So excited. If this truly does turn it into a pavilion rather than just a ride, then it will be great for Future World, and EPCOT as a whole.

The ride itself should be the exact same, with maybe a few changes to it, but the major changes seem to be in the pre and post show areas. It was rumored that GM really hated the queue line with the techno junky music, and they want it to be more slick and appealing, and now with games!

I think the queue was okay.

If the ride was halfway decent I'd probably be cool with the queue getting most of the attention...but it's not...so yea. Really hoping we get some aesthetic enhancements. And by some, I mean lots.

Just in case anyone wondered who the sponsor was, that logo is a tad over the top
I am excited to see the change though, Test Track is a very fun attraction, but can be so much more
