From Screamscape:

(3/25/11) The latest buzz on the Disco Yeti is that he will be covered up for the next several months in order to complete some kind of lengthy repair option. When he does return, there will be some motion once again. It wont be the same old motion program, it should be something new. I’ve also been told that we can expect to see some kind of temporary new lighting effect put in place in there very soon, so keep your eyes open.

Aren't you allowed to go in costume to the Disney parks?!

How awesome if someone got a yeti costume, dressed up in a polyester suit, and then starting doing the Saturday Night Fever in front of EE :pound:

He could have a sign taped to his back saying "FIX ME"

I am so down with this! Someone just needs to have on ready for me in May...and I have my wheelchair so it will be even better

If its no where near its original form, then Disney failed big time with this.

Its been 3 years since it was working I would have to say its already failed on a major level.

Indeed. The words cut like a two edged sword, although not an epic fail, it for sure doesn't reach the caliber and bar raised for Disney theme park attractions. One would expect something more ya know? Why let one of your best coasters in all of WDW go neglected?

IMHO Disney has already failed. Almost epically, but not yet. You can't erase how long this problem has gone neglected and unsolved. However, they can somewhat save themselves with a decent repair. Whether or not that will happen is the question.

That is pretty telling.

BUMP!

I thought it would be interesting to note that Everest is listed in the 2011 Guinness Book as the most expensive rollercoaster in the world. According to the book, the total cost was 100 million after 6 years of planning and construction.

According to my friend who works at Tower of Terror: he says that one of his other Castmember friends says that Yeti is moving again. Until we get some other confirmation of this I'm going to take this as pure rumor at the moment.

I agree that it's sad that Yeti appears to be fatally ill and may never move again. Poor guy, maybe we should get him a wheelchair???

Yeah, it was. However, a large portion of that 100 million was the mountain, theming, and the yeti. The skeletal ride system was probably around 40-50 million. It's one of Vekoma's largest installations.
