Yikes, even though that movie was sorta interesting with an old man Leatherface but the acting was bad, I mean if they do some sorta timeline house with TCM from the first film to TCM 3D, I mean that would interesting, not saying that's what they could be bringing this year but its a good idea if they want do it for the future, but I mean I could just see them just pulling TCM 2, since Tobe Hooper only made the first two films, I think it would be a good homage to him if they did the second film as a house even though it's very 80s and cheesy, its still got a lot of good material they could work with from the film just hope they don't use masks like Hollywood did with Titans, the Choptop mask looked really bad but hopefully we find out which one they do.

And this year is definitely falling in the middle of what ifs and what it could be, it's exciting but it's also questioning I guess for me lol. This is looks to be a semi-anniversary year with limitations.
Let's be honest with ourselves. Although the original film was groundbreaking and paved the way for low budget horror films to follow, the original and subsequent films are arguably bad when it comes to acting and storytelling. What we're really there to watch is the chainsaw and the guts, which doesn't necessarily need great storytelling and therefore, in any form, makes TCM solid filler for HHN and the slasher crowd.

Man this is tragic
I haven't heard full details on the house she is in, so there is the possibility she could be the headliner, but there will be a lot going on. Let's say(for popularity and not merit's sake) back in the 80's, you wanted to see a Guns n' Roses concert, but opening for them was Journey, Bon Jovi, Motley Crue, AC/DC and Queen(no pun intended). Well now your attention is divided and this no longer becomes just a Guns n' Roses concert.

So in other words, an anniversary/icon house may actually become true.

Does anybody know the status of the regular day time parade? That seems to be the biggest problem with the scare zone layouts the last few years. If the parade is cancelled for the foreseeable future for causing people to line up shoulder to shoulder to watch, maybe the scare zones can be much more elaborate without the need to have them be moved in and out each night to not obstruct the parade route.

Trying to make lemonade out of lemos...but I for once would be thrilled to have large setpieces in the streets, even if they aren't full of scareactors, to change it up a bit. Also hoping for a big return of projection mapping as Acid Assualt (I think that was the one that had the buildings crubmling) was amazing. You could probably do some scares/gags via that technology too.

iron maiden and slipknot are tailor made for horror nights
not because i like their music specifically, but visually you can make a very extremely powerful and scary house with both of them.
SLipknot has so many crazy videos that there is enough material to fill 10 houses
same with iron maiden. their album covers alone would work as rooms for a house.

i know someone might say "i hate slipknot/ slipknot is terrible"
but you cant deny how much they would fit horror nights
Do you think either iron maiden or slipknot will make an appearance at the event eventually. Either as a scarezone or house?

ive written about both on the hhn surveys (at the end of the night) and ive explained how visually both bands are horror themed bands and how much of a following the bands had. so at least survey wise theyve heard about it. (interest for those bands)
since rob zombie was such a success, maybe they might.
the only reason it might not happen is if the bands dont like the idea. either band might say no

Are we sure the Billie Eilish rumor is for a house? I still think inclusion in the Fountain show makes more sense.
Yes, the rumor pertains to a house. The fountain show cannot be guaranteed to be socially distanced at the moment.

The current plan is to bring floats out and perform dances on the stages in front of Mel's and Horror Makeup and then go back in. They've also ventured out to NY and then turned around and come back. They're testing and changing things on a daily basis, but I'm sure the scarezone design will keep the parade in mind for when it comes back. Believe it or not, the Superstar Parade is the highest guest satisfaction rated daily entertainment venue, so when and if they can get the opportunity to send it out to the public, they're going to take advantage of it.

Hard disagree with regards to the original two films. Marilyn Burns and Gunnar Hansen are great in their roles in the original while Dennis Hopper, Caroline Willams, Jim Siedow and especially Bill Moseley are fantastic in their outlandish, zany roles in the sequel. They're not playing serious but they're not supposed to be in the context of that wild sequel. Hell, Matthew McConaughey is great at hamming it up in Next Generation. The remake cast is serviceable with R. Lee Emery stealing the show as he usually does.

The stories themselves can be convoluted but they're usually very memorable in the best entries.

Interesting. You’d think Jack would be the “framing”/finale for such a house but it would be neat if the Terra Throne was the finale.

So in other words, an anniversary/icon house may actually become true.

That list was a 6/4. So probably not completely. But close.

to be honest for me the best texas movie was the 2003 remake
yes i prefer it much more than the original.
texas remake was very iconic, probably one of the greatest remakes of all time.
the only texas chainsaw movies i hate are texas chainsaw and i hated the last one where leatherface was a teenager

i wouldnt mind a texas chainsaw remake house. the 2007 house was very epic. i really loved that house. a faithful adaptation would be really amazing.
(well it would be amazing to watch on youtube this year lol)

Man a billie house just sounds so unique. Imagine being in the dark and you hear “I’m a bad guyyyy” and then in the corner a scary billie scare actor screams duh in
tbh I don’t think it would be a good house (not saying it will be bad) but I just don’t see what they can do.

The big difference, however, is that along with darker themed music, Rob Zombie also has a tie in with creating/directing horror films. So that makes quite a bigger draw than Slipknot or Iron Maiden although I agree I think they would fit in the event well.

I enjoy the TCM remake but it suffers from the same thing that most of the remakes from that time frame suffer from: a shiny, glossy vibe that makes me miss the gritty realness of the original. The slasher remakes really miss that mark, understandable given the current style of Hollywood films but just my personal preference.

I love the hell out of TCM2, it's such a zany, over the top take on the family in contrast with how dark and brutal the original film was. I think it would make for one hell of a house at HHN as well, there's a ton of fantastic set pieces and lots of great characters to work with.
