Agreed. It would be perfect, but it works for Busch Gardens and SeaWorld too with the animal themes. Those penguins would go great in SeaWorld.

Also, I wonder if the Universal/DreamWorks relationship isn't the same now that Universal has it's own popular animation studio. The minions have taken over as the popular animated figures in film.

I know Despicable Me is a major success for Uni but I'm not so sure about it expanding so much as some have imagined. Maybe some sort of a flat ride would compliment it well but I'd leave it at that. Does Uni have any other films that would attract kids? I'm not really in the loop when it comes to films in development. I will always hope for a Coraline ride (yes, Universal made it) but I know it's not as popular, its an underrated film IMO.

I don't want minions taking over the park, but I'm 100% behind them taking down Shrek and using the area to expand the brand and just having it be the main kid friendly area of the park. That gives Universal tons of options with what they do with the KZ land. It doesn't have to be kid only. Shrek is an outdated attraction with no real purpose anyways.

I gets annoying and just becomes spam. 99% of the suggestions are either completely impossible or hardly even suitable. Majority of the time a few of you guys just kept pulling random movies out of a hat and they made no sense. Its better off having no conversation then one that essentially means nothing at all, is completely pointless. This is because it just gets to a point where its meaningless. If you are going to guess at a IP, make it an educated guess, not a random stab in the dark.

I think it would be weird to have the main thoroughfare of the park be the Kid area. I love DM, and i think it should have more presence in the park, but I think they would be silly to tear down Shrek....

if anything, they need to focus on recreating a new entry way for USF

I think that it's wishful thinking to believe the KidZone space will be used for anything other than a kid/family area.

But it seems Smurfs aren't coming since Smurfs 2 bombed and DreamWorks isn't working with Uni anymore... SpongeBob and Dora are still in it IMO! while I'm starting to think Hasbro will have something to do with KidZone - My Little Pony, specifically: little girls and strangely enough grown men love the show so I could see a dark ride or a play area with a M&G. Hello Kitty is also fairly popular and would make for a great store and cafe area if you ask me. Scooby-Doo is timeless as are the Looney Tunes so I wouldn't be shocked to see either get a presence in the new area.

Also keep in mind that Illumination is making a Woody Woodpecker movie (I'm suspecting that's what their July 3rd, 2015 release is) so he's probably going to continue to have some kind of role/attraction. But I'd love to see the immersive theming from Potter and Springfield get put into a Fantasyland-style forest or a jungle. Go all out, Comcast!!

A recent article has said that Illumination scrapped the Woody Woodpecker movie, which is a darn shame. Woody Woodpecker is a character that really needs to be reintroduced for a new generation.

(But on another note, thank goodness I'm not the only one here that thinks My Little Pony would be great for this area. Maybe someday they'll get some kind of presence...)

Was going to reply to the post you quoted, but I see you already handled it succinctly.

Making out of the box but educated guesses makes for good discussion. Stabbing in the dark at things that don't even make sense becomes quickly pointless.

And I won't even address how quickly some of the other threads were constantly derailed by people ignoring facts to keep insisting DC's on the way.

Yes, you should get over that. It was months ago.

To the new guys, it might be better if you guys don't guess. Don't upset the more "experienced" members.

No offense...I'm one of the "new members" on this site, and I agree 100% with what Fallow and Cruiseshipfan said. One particular thread in general I read from page 1 to page 7599 and it got SO old reading the same 2 or 3 posters INSISTING that a DC Comics land could be coming to the MIB/Simpsons mystery plot, even after it was shot down time and time again by THOSE IN THE KNOW. It literally made me want to claw my eyes out and scream in an annoyed, ham-fisty rage. I was actually happy that some of the more senior members on this page jumped on them...it needed to be done, and I didn't feel it was my place to do so.

Educated, thoughtful guesses are intriguing. Just pulling things out of the air and then REFUSING to drop them after repeatedly being told that they are impossible doesn't make for good conversation or interesting reading. Not trying to flame anyone...EVERYONE on this site has the right to take part in the conversation. But please, know when to give something a rest!

Kumbaya and a thousand points of light to everyone in this community.

I think there's a very easy method to not get annoyed with what you don't want to see. It's called scrolling...or ignoring said members who are posting what you don't like. I don't think most people use that feature. Point is, no one is forcing you to read the guesses you don't approve of, so move on.

With that being said, let's not ruin another thread with bickering back and fourth about DC or whatever else. Who's next up at bat to give an educated guess?

I wholeheartedly agree with you about the random Cartoon Network shows AND the Smurfs being brought to Kidzone. It doesn't seem practical. However, something that probably won't happen, but I don't think is impossible, is a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle attraction. Had you asked me a year and a half ago, I probably would've thought that it would be a sure thing. But is a TMNT attraction along with Transformers too much "boy" stuff? I personally think that TMNT is a classic franchise that is being brought back to life with the new TV show and the upcoming movie. It's just something that I would love to see.

I've been wanting TMNT in the Kid Zone or in any part of Universal forever now! lol It's definitely not impossible.

Oh trust me, I was scrolling. I can't imagine how painful it would have become if I had read each of the "offending" posts!

But seriously, I look forward to seeing what's coming in the next 3 years as much as the rest of the gang on here. Whatever does end up coming to the new KZ will be wonderful and a solid grab at the very lucrative family market.

I got your back UniversalFreak. A lot of things are possible. I think just some people think they know everything and they think whatever they say has to be rite. I'm pretty sure a lot of the things to happen to Universal lately were probably shot down a million times by people "who know for sure". The truth is you just never know. And as far as the its not going to happen because they don't have the rights thing. Who's to say they cant ever come to an agreement and get the rights? And again if you don't like somebody throwing an idea out there (because they can and its a free country) then move on like UniversalFreak said. I am a realist when it comes to most things but this is theme parks we are talking about. If somebody wants to dream about the possibility of DC coming to Universal or BTTF coming back then let them dream. I understand facts are facts. But if people want to speculate or keep hope for their favorite IP to come to the parks then I don't see the problem with it. We all are grateful and respect the updates and info we get on here. But there should be room for people to not only talk about stuff that is confirmed to happen and stuff that could possibly never happen. And I just feel like we really need to stop judging people on how they talk about theme parks. And if somebody is 100 percent wrong then we should kindly correct them.

Yeah, I agree anything Cartoon Network is not a possibility. I just can't see it and Nickelodeon touching shoulders in the same park. It's like Marvel and DC together.

The Smurfs I suppose isn't too likely as well, people are mostly speaking about it because it was on one of the surveys.

I'm still putting money on Hasbro having some involvement in this area. I'm not ruling out My Little Pony just yet, at least based on the huge merchandise numbers its been doing, and the huge leaps that franchise has and is still making. (but we're not getting back into that argument again. )

TMNT would be great to see, but I'm not sure if Universal would license anymore Nickelodeon properties after they dropped almost all of them back in 2011.

At this point I would say SpongeBob is the only guarantee for this area.

What really gets me is the SpongeBob store right by KidZone. I mean, it would be sorta odd to have an entire SpongeBob store, with no SpongeBob attractions in the park, located right by the kids area that's themed to something completely different. SpongeBob or something else Nick related makes sense to me. I know a few adults who are SpongeBob fans (so what if they're stoners?) and it's been popular for a long time now. Again, maybe I'm over thinking the store, but it's the only store I can think of that is based on an IP that is currently not represented as an attraction in the park, and that stands out to me.

Well, there's a Betty Boop store near Shrek, but at the same time I don't really see how you could make a ride out of that IP.
