Impression I got, and I would agree with, is maybe their choice of country is tied to IP to tie it with. I'd much prefer Greece with Hercules than rolling dice with Spain with Gigantic.

Greece would be an interesting country but i've heard zero rumblings about it and i've heard at least 5 different countries thrown around.

Yeah, that was just me sharing my preference, nothing from rumor or talk.

What imprint did it leave? I know it was a good movie and it got nominated for some awards (but then again, so did Avatar), however, when people think Pixar, very few people think Ratatouille.

France is getting a Ratatouille ride, one of the lowest grossing Pixar movies (and one that left zero imprint on pop culture).

Perhaps, but it is one of their very best films, regardless of how much money it made at the box office.

I'd be happy if Spain were to come, but Greece would truly excite me. Distinctive architecture and food, and Hercules - if used correctly - could be a great vehicle around which to build a ride about Greek mythology.

Since it would excite me, I'm sure that means it has no shot at happening!

I'm not saying it's of major relevance, but I bet everyone knows of the "movie with the rat chef". GP sees the marketing and would make the connection.

Ratatouille is my favorite Pixar film. And many in the film community agree, including most of my film geek friends. It has beautiful cinematography and was the first Pixar film in 2.35 : 1 wide aspect ratio, making it feel quite epic. And it has a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Plus, Patton Oswalt is amazing as a voice actor.

Couldn't happen, there would be no input from the Greek Government, they were basically bankrupt a couple of years ago, with people not able to withdraw their on Cash from the Banks!

That looks like one of their famous surveys designed to generate a specific outcome :shifty:

I was under the impression that Figment was a decent merchandise mover. I'd be very sad to see the character leave the park, even though I'm not a huge fan of Imagination as it currently exists.

Well, as much as I hate to say it, he can remain an icon for the park without having a ride. Mickey never needed a ride to be Magic Kingdom's icon.

Of course I'd rather have a better Imagination ride than none.

Figment is a huge merch mover, which is why the ride is not currently in line for upgrade/replacement as of now.

However, if Imagination were to leave, Figment merch can easily stay and it would still sell. They could probably find a way to integrate the character into some sort of experience in the park, too.

I think the word is WAS. He was a merch mover. But he's not anymore. He's not even one of the Top 20 IP's of merchandise sellers in Disney parks.

He's on all the Festival merchandise though. Was there today. Everyone was wearing Figment shirts all over.

Sure his plush dolls aren't as popular as they were in the eighties, but I like seeing him on all the event merchandise at least.

I think the hardcore Disney fan community has be overstating Figments relevance for years.

Sure he's not going to sell as big as the princesses or any movie IP, but he still sells really well. And this has nothing to do with Disney fandom, i'm going off of numbers I heard from just 2 years ago from a retail manager friend at Epcot.

If they close the ride they'll probably be able to sell even more Figment merchandise. It'll be more nostalgic.
